Your expression of the American Preception on experiments and research is, and has been for the greater good in Martial Arts here in the states or any where for that matter. Do not know of you remember in 1986, were I had a the Full contact Long staff with all things allowed in the Asian Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. We had fun and no one, luckely got serious hurt. My personal research, I ended that in when I turned 50, the broken things and bruses are slower to heal. I took accidental hits in class from a student the other day while teaching in the gut and the Bio feed back is refreshing. Those stick sing with a vengence If one is practiced and teaching, watch what you ask for, communication a key to a teachers survival. Realy like your spirit with your events and the participants. Friends after the research My best to all your endeavor and projects Pak Vic Woof to All: Tail wags to Pak Vic et al for the kind words on the Learning Channel piece. I did wince a bit at some of the sparring footage they used, (the fight footage was fine) but overall I was pleased. I thought Rick Tucci did a fine job. As for the matter of the ranking, hell, we were delighted to be included. These things are not to be taken too seriously. You pointed out in one of your posts that emails are cold and that this sort of banter is boring. I agree. -Steve Kohn --__--__-- Message: 3 From: "EDGES2, INC." Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net <<< FWIW, I have more than one Glock. But I have triple that number of 1911s. Was it Mae West that said, "Too much of a good thing is... wonderful!"?>>> Ray, I knew there was something that I liked about you. :-) My first gun was a 1911 and I haven't looked back since. Although I own a number of firearms I always seem to return to the 1911. However over the last year I have picked up a couple of Ruger Vaqueros in 45LC and must admit that I like shooting the cowboy stuff quite a bit. But I am still working on lowering my El Presidente times with the cowboy guns. I've enjoyed the thread on training law enforcement but I have a question for any out there that would indulge me with an answer. I'm curious when people say that certain stuff should only be available to LE, military, or other government types exactly what are you talking about? Is it certain techniques, philosophies, the entire curriculum, portions of the curriculum? Can anyone give me a general idea of what they are talking about when they say that they restrict the material? Take care, Rob --__--__-- Message: 6 From: POWERFACTOR71839@aol.com Date: Fri, 12 Apr 2002 23:42:58 EDT To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] maphilindo silat Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net On the Inosanto.com bulletin board there is an outline of the Maphilindo silat program. There are some additions from a Ron Balicki seminar. Does anyone have seminar or training notes that could add to that outline? I would love to compare my notes with others on this list regarding the Inosanto Maphilindo program. We can take this to private email if you wish.
