I will be there on a Fulbright scholarship to study Filipino, and I would like to train the arts of my ancestors hopefully in the place of its birth. I know that Bakbakan trains in Luneta on Sunday according to articles I've read, but I know that not just anyone can join in. I don't blame them, because I'd be pretty wary of just teaching people I barely know. However, if there is the opportunity to practice, or even just to watch, may I please know? Hopefully, if I can, I'd extend my stay 2 weeks to travel to Ilokos. So anyone also knows anywhere I can train in Ilokos Norte, let me know too. Kali, arnis, eskrima, sikaran, kuntao - I'd like to train anything, if I can , while I'm there. Even watch some of the matches if I can. So if anyone knows anything, about the martial arts tournaments and about schools too, let me know privately at elegaspi@hawaii.edu. Maraming Salamat. Nonetheless I'm happy that Alex Gong and Fairtex got the exposure. Alex is a really nice guy, and he has an amazingly fast Thai kick. Great Semi-Auto Fire Arm Factory issued Jamming occured, with the breech return and the round is jammend on the Ramp so you quickly learn how to un-jam the breech. In a field test with many different weaopons, with dust and sand when dropped, the Glock will outdo the Colt in many of cases, and hold more rounds in standard issue. Now I worked on my Colt, and ground and Lapped the Ramp and it has been smooth as silk. Also Changed the Spring and Guide. I also accurized the slide, changes the Beaver Tail and Safety. The trigger Pull I changed to gain a softer pull. (less then 4 lbs) The Awarenes in AD's is highten with this Fire Arm In shooting with my other Colts A1911 that have not been worked on they will still Jam, then the un-Jamming is done very quickly, the weapons will still Jam during a day of shooting. Using Ball-Nose Rounds will help, but no guarantees. As I mentioned, I favor the A1911 over any other Weapon, but that is my choice of course. Mr. Dan Predovich reintroduced the 45 to me again in the early ninties and shared the fun of the Presidente, were speed and Accrucy the key to complete the exercise. Never been to Gun Sight or Thunder Ranch, but one of my students Under Sherif from Clear Creek I belief, Stu Nay is developing a simular organization in Colorado were they will deploy Fire Arms Training/ Stick and Open Blade Training. I was asked by Mr. Stu Nay the head up the Stick and Blade Training, should be fun at that. Only for law Enforcement and Citizen's with no Records may Train. We will have a 3 day shoothing/Stick and Blade Camp soon here in California and in Colorado. Colorado Instructors: Dr. Charles Blome, Federal Fire Arms Instructor (My gun Guru) Under Sherif Stu Nay, Fire Arms and Tactical Instructor Detective Matt Adams, Fire Arms and Tactical Instructor Pak Vic: Stick and Blade Instructor California Instructors Dr. Charles Blome, Federal Fire Arms Instructor Pak Vic: Stick and Blade Instructor Only 12 participants at one time Must have your own Fire-Arm, and bring your own rounds. Only legal factory loads allowed, in any of the Camps Let me know soon if anyone is interested, their will be a camp schedules soon And as you may have mention, you can never have enough of these fine tools you are absolutly right, In shooting it is my weapon of choice. my hormat Pak Vic > I thought the colt got the job as standard issue for US army based on its > reliability. It was put thru hell to mimic battle conditions and would still > fire? The military was primarily interested in how well it performed w/ball ammo. That said, I'm still amazed at John Browning's designs and how well they have held up all these years later. He was a true genius. His 1911 design well predates that year, and I continue to be amazed that the semi-auto firearms and firearms designs of 60 or 100 years ago are as frequently used by civilians today as they were back then. A real tribute to the designers. John Browning's designs were decades ahead of most others and it took newer, modern materials, not availible in the late 1890 - 1920's to come up with a superior handgun with regard to firing after sever abuse. EBrook THE Wicked Western Warlock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ Eskrima mailing list Eskrima@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/eskrima http://eskrima-fma.net Old digest issues are available via ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com.
