So did most people 15 years ago. This was practically unheard-of in the mid 80's. Now it's everywhere. Grammer-school level kids are dealing with this kind of violence on a daily basis. If it hasn't happened to your neighborhood, wait a bit. Time catches us all. From Tom Meadows: "Grandmaster Cacoy Canete's recently published book on Pangamot devotes no less than 15 pages to gun disarming, and I know he was teaching them to his military regiment as early as 1938." He still does to this day. He demo'd some at his last seminar here in Seattle. Not many other instructors approach this subject, I'm glad to see so many people, such as yourself & Guro Crafty tackling it. "There are currently more guns in America than Americans by about 4% last time I checked: This is well over 200 million guns. The bull is out of the pen, and it is not going back in. I fully support learning to bullfight....." Bingo! I applaud you, Guro Meadows. Standing ovation, even. Are we to > believe that an armed home-owner or person on the street is a deterrent to > such actions. ... One final(?) point from me. :) In short, yes. Very much so. We know that home invasions when the resident is present are far more common in countries with very strong gun control. Why? One very probable reason is that the criminal realizes that there is little chance they'll confront a properly armed home owner. Maybe it will keep some scum sucker from breaking into a house or trying to prey on someone if he thinks they are armed?.. --__--__-- Message: 6 Date: Tue, 14 May 2002 20:15:19 -0700 (PDT) From: jim bruce To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Inayan seminar Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Master Terry, We were sorry to here of your problems in England.
