Plan your Summer with us in the Philippines 2003. Train from the Best of Laguna Arnis Fighter. Rey, Arnis? Arnes de Mano is a hand trapping decor used by Moro-moro actors and actresses, during the time when the Spaniards banned the practiced of the native fighting arts starts on1665. The movement used in the arts is " shielding" motion of the hands, were the hand is constantly and automatically covering every possible target with his hand with the attacker that why they add the "de Mano" a Spanish term for the hand. In regards of Eskrima.. During that time every Moro-moro actors and actresses has to learn basic esgrima (eskrima ) which is means fencing and Estocada (defensive tactics used by the bull fighter in Bullfighting arena) that they have to used to the choreograph combat dances in the climax of the Moro-moro play. In the biginning Filipino taught is a Spanish Arts, its a perfect opportunity to all Maestro of FMA at that time to used this a vihicle to promote and practiced the Filipino Fighting Arts. Without this the arts might has been gone forever like the other arts. In regards of term, Arnes is Spanish words, but since Filipino had a very heavy accent up to now instead and "Arnes" (Ar-ness) in Spanish, Filipino pronounce it "Arnis" (Ar-knees). But some Filipino meztizo still call it Arnes up to now especially from Pampangga and Ilocos. No Kali word what so ever been records refers as the Mother of the Filipino Fighting arts.
