I had a talk with Uwe and I'll try to sort it out." with regards to Doce Pares politics and the situation in Germany. In my original response I was addressing not the political situation but rather how we exacerbate the situation with our own responses and the spreading of hearsay. Education is the full dissemination of information, and politics is born with the dissemination of limited or filtered information. The situation I was addressing was the forwarding of partial information from a website and how ideally we should each take responsibility for checking out the sources directly, which is really quite easy in the electronic age. Unfortunately with the addition of the information from Rudolph we now have the situation I was hoping we could avoid. Purely on hearsay we now have an accusation of Fran Stroeven's mainaining a false address for his organization, his politically attacking GM Cacoy's organization, all from information provided from a website that uses a language that I don't speak and can't translate for myself. Added to this was the the partial forwarding of the forwarded e-mail from Percival Pableo to Ewe Schwartz. I do not feel this should have been sent to the Eskrima digest and I feel that this is frankly irresponsible to do so. Percival is one of the top instructors in Diony's system and unless he is on this digest, is not in a position to defend whether or not he sent the particular e-mail. Frankly it doesn't jibe with the Percival I know, but again he is not in a position to defend himself. The letter attributed to him is very similar in content to the over 100 letters sent to the official Doce Pares bulletin board accusing GM Cacoy of being gay, and unable to fight and so on. That group of people responsible was very sophisticated and were using dummy host addresses and more to cover their tracks. It tooks month of work to eliminate their access to the board. I've been involved with Doce Pares for 14 years, and instructors from both Diony's lineage and Cacoy's lineage have always freely intermixed personally and technically, and we accept that we are just different branches a very large complex Eskrima system. I have never been ostracised or challenged in any way by any of the instructors in Doce Pares because of my particluar choice of affiliation. Most of the politics seems to be created by students more intent on personal status and titles than technical prowess. Again, it is just easier to go directly to readily available sources for information rather than rely on secondhand info. Diony's website is here : www.doceparesinternational.com and it has listing of his certified instructors and how to contact them. GM Cacoy's website is normally at www.docepares.com but it appears to be currently down for re-construction. It usually has his list of certified instructors and other information realted to his system. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Leo, You are right, Visayan are the most propagator of FMA around the worlds, but we have few from Luzon also, like Leo Giron of Bahala na Eskrima, Ramilo Stalilla, Mat Marinas from Pangasinan, Bo Sayoc from Cavite, Prof. Vee Visitacion, Master Advincula, Raffy Pambuan from Laguna, Ner Reodica from Laguna we are not competing how much Student around the world we have. We are just trying to reach those people or practitioner that wanted to see other style. We can offer them since we are not what you 95% popular around the worlds. In regarsds of mistrust, you are right you are never experienced this, because in Manila is melting pot like US alll dialect is spoke in Manila. Try to go out a bit and see what I am talking about. I am not saying I am seperating myself to the Visayan, I have a lot relatives in Visaya, because my Great Granfather nickname is "Lino Bisaya" becaused he was living there for four years back in 1886. I am just telling you a little bit of what is the truth. I know because I was as stranger before to a different Island of the Philippines. In History, I am sorry, I am not trying to get your attention and believed to what I have to say, like Inosanto said to his book "Absorb what is useful" di ba? If is not believable, you are free to choose of what you believed. Filipino is common to believed to the Foreigner more than his own. Sabi nga sa tin Sip-sip tayo eh. Okay wish you luck. Filipino Martial Arts is alive, yesterday, today and tomorrow in the Philippines as long as theistillr Filipino in the Philippi nes. Eskrimadores or Arnisadores still exist in our native country atlest in Laguna and Visaya.
