Beyond that I'm not very familiar with it's uses in our system and it's something that is held closely guarded. Perhaps Bapak Victor will discuss, perhaps not. The modern Sai is smaller what is siold as of today. While long ago adopted by other stylist and from other land, the holding of the true weapon of offense is held very much different then what you see as practiced. The Sku Siku a weapon that for the offensive nature is a close ranging weapon. There is a 180 degree difference in the usage in let's say in what I teach. in Some other stylist in the use of it. On the otherhand, all have their philosophy in the usage, and to the style. If held wrong, fingers and forearms can be sliced by a longer knife or sword. So in it's intend from the teachings, it is use in a format of two units. Hends the word Siku Siku. The lone weapon by itself also referred to as Tjabang by many Sundanese or Javanese. At any rate, great to see many arts using the weapon and see how humans can adopt many weapons from long ago into their own. Look at the Romans, the Gladius in its orging is not a Roman weapon but adopted from Chartaginia lands and area or what is now know as Spain. Our Inayan handgun/weapon retention was greatly influenced by James Lindell's work. Lindell, recongnized as the Father of Handgun Retention as well as the developer of the Lateral Vascular Neck Restraint System (LVNR), is president of the National Law Enforcement Training Center. I'm sure you and the other guys back there are familar w/Lindell's excellent work and background. << Jim Lindel's work is legendary, good that you base the techniques on his program.
