Well I have seen my doctor a number of times in the past and he always just says the same thing "exorcise" Well I can exorcise all I want an deat healthy and do all the right things, and my weight might go down 50 to 75 lbs in a month or two or it can go up 50 to 75 lbs. Well I finally did something I should have done years ago, I went to a specialist. After weeks of blood test after blood test, he diagnose me with an unstable thyroid. It will swing from being way over active to way under active. He gave me some medicine an damn what a difference my energy level is up and in a week I lost almost 10 pounds. My question to Mik or anyone with a medical back ground is, is this a common thing. And can you damage your thyroid from being hit quite often in the neck or throat ( I boxed quite a bit ) or from being choked ( I grappled a lot with my dad ) I asked my Doc. but he really never had anyone ask that before. And also he said my testosterone level was two low for my age 36 and he thought it might be because when your body is missing one thing ( like under active thyroid ) it will deplete other chemicals to try to maintain proper body weight. Does this sound right?? And one last thing he highly recommended that I go on a low carb, high protein diet, after about a month of monitoring the meds he has me on. He said he doesn't feel and he is hoping that dieting will not be a major issue, and if I keep dropping weight like I have in the last 10 days he is right. But if I have to he recommends low carbs. Any recommendations. Police said Leopoldo Pangilinan, 47, a machine welder and a resident of Malaun St., Malabon City, was badly bruised after receiving a flurry of kicks and punches from his would-be victim, six-months pregnant Clarissa de Guzman, 25, married and a resident of Obando, Bulacan. De Guzman told police she was walking by Bonifacio Market in Monumento when Pangilinan accosted her, brandishing a knife. De Guzman said she did not resist and allowed Pangilinan to divest her of her valuables. When she saw the man had relaxed his guard, she suddenly gave him a kick learned in Tae Kwon Do, stunning him and knocking the knife from his grip. The surprised man attempted to flee but she felled him with a rapid succession of kicks and punches. Bystanders who witnessed the scuffle subdued the man and brought him to the nearest police station. --__--__-- Message: 3 From: "rocky pasiwk" To: Date: Sat, 9 Nov 2002 11:47:51 -0500 Subject: [Eskrima] Modern Arnis Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hello Gm Gat That's what I was always lead to believe that Remy founded Modern Arnis in 1969 as it says in his book. But on several occasions he disputed his own book and said he founded it in 1957 after leaving the Balintawak groups. Oh well, I guess the important point is he founded the art. Working for a living sucks don't it. Hey Gm Gat we got thru a thread with out arguing. I have never trained with either of Remys brothers, but I have heard they are very good and worth training with.
