Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net GREETINGS RAY! I got this experience three months ago... we were practicing reversed sinawali with my friend. It was just a friendly match and we didn't expedct anyone of us could get hurt. As we were progressing we got faster and faster until WHACK! my stick flew away and I felt a great excruciating pain in my thumb later I realized there was blood dripping from my thumb. MAN! it really hurts I suddenly felt weak...so I just sat down and said to my friend JESUS MAN!FIND MY NAIL YOU ASSH&*@!!! :) __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Are there any training videos or books on the FMA use of nunchaku(tabak toyok)? Thanks in advance. K. Sifu Inosanto,"Martial arts goes full circle. Punching kicking is popular then wrestling and around again". What??? Sifu you just need this JunFan stuff! Age 14. Stickfighting transition from full armour to no gear. The result...nothing worked and everything worked...just a lot differently. Life is good in stickdom again. Bukti Negara works when you crash then bash. Wing Chun works when you crash then bash. This Thai boxing really sucks...I hate conditioning ...I'm going to puke. I can't believe it...Thai boxing became my neucleus... Pendekar Herman Suwanda, "Fighting is cheating". Island Dog almost took me off my feet with a #3 head shot. Completely Changed my way of power handling. I owe Crafty Dog for getting Island Dog interested in DBMA. "The ground" is a nasty place...Nailed by a white belt in classic "mount spin on chest to arm bar"...what the hell just happened. The ground is your friend it is the last place you end up... Gotch Submission wrestling...damn this stuff really hurts...ME! Shootfighting a funny cousin with very different feel. BJJ...the world is orderly again...so that is what Gotch is trying to teach us. Saw un-released fight clips of "Game of Death"...Bruce Lee is ground fighting and I can see elements of significant moves. Bruce Lee was a man before his time. He had IT back then we did not understand it. I am convinced if he lived the whole ground revolution and NHB would have been here much earlier. Martial arts is full circle you have to have the whole package. This JKD stuff still works. In the end SiGung Lee said it best..."Be water my friend". Regards, C.H. Fung, D.D.S. It's hard to believe that yet another year has come and gone. I hope this time finds you and your families full of love, spirit and good health. For the holidays, I'll be traveling to Richmond, Indiana to be with my wife's side of the family from Dec. 19th - Dec 29, 2002. During that time I'd like to reach out and say hello to any FMA schools and practioners in the neigboring area. Aside from eating way too much food with the family I will have free time to look around Indianapolis, Dayton, Columbus and Cincinatti (a quick check on Mapquest showed these areas to be fairly close). I'd like very much to trade contact information with practioners in the aforementioned areas who are interested in training during the holidays. I'd also like visit other FMA teachers and pay my respects. Participation in open classes is also welcomed so if anyone could please forward me links to websites, class schedules and other contact info it will be highly appreciated. Those interested in learing about the Garimot system of FMA (www.garimot.com), which is the particular system I practice, are free to contact me. I'd be happy to share what I know with you as well. The contact information for Glenn Harris can be found under the "contact us" information of the garimot website. I look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible and hopefully you yourselves are reaching out to other students/teachers of the martial arts in similar ways over the holidays. May our community and brotherhood flourish into the New year.
