GUARANTEES their certificates are 100% custom designed and printed on textured paper, listing all pertinent information, and SIGNED BY BOTH the chairman of the i.c.m.a.f. and the MASTER INSTRUCTOR in the style "family" requested. the master also affixes a personal silver wax seal and ribbon on the certificate. since you are already listed as a legitimate instructor, the master of that style family at the i.c.m.a.f. would be permitted to issue his signature and verify your rank WITHOUT RE-TESTING and WITHOUT JOINING THE i.c.m.a.f. there are NO OTHER CHARGES!!! the certificates are large in size, measuring a full 8" x 10" unframed, or 11" x 14" framed, as shown in the photo. no one else can make an offer this impressive. certificates are only $34.95 plus shipping, and like i said, they are 100% custom made. if you want your certificate PROFESSIONALLY MATTED AND FRAMED FOR IMMEDIATE DISPLAY, as shown in the photo, they are only $69.95 plus shipping. the matting and framing alone are worth it! if you are interested, please let me know. you can immediately SEE A SAMPLE certificate by CLICKING ON THE HYPERLINK BELOW:http://members.DIRECTVInternet.com/jeglosa/ebay/rank2.jpgthanks! Craig, My grappling arts are the worst thing I do so if I know about them you can bet your friendly neighborhood grappler knows them. So here is the insight. All but a few people I have trained with have "trained" elbows. Think about what is your most refined tool. Do you train the elbow to that level? How about your jab? How do you train it? Some people think punching air is training it enough. For some people it is but for most they are fooling themselves. That's part 1. Part 2 is that Grapplers conciously or unconciously have a greater appreciation for gravity and base than most stand up fighters. they know how to read and exploit your lack of knowledge for gravity and exploit a momentarily unstable base because that understanding is key to the grappler's ability to entry. Study video of vale tudo for example and look at times when grappler's lost in stand-up punching/kicking. Often times it what the momentary lost of "base and balance" that was capitalized on by the puncher that got them. The problem with elbows are that the technique while very powerful demands full commitment to make them telling. It's key attribute is it's key weakness. It is pretty easy to turn twist close tie redirect clinch the elbower's body elbow head. Those things give rise to many throws. Gotch throws in particular don't let you break fall hence being pretty complete techniqes. The Gotch follw-ups of following the guy to the ground after the throw are acedemic excercises. Their throws will distract or prevent succesfull break falls by either pain application or tie-ups of limbs as you fall. Hookers are mean people. I have never seen advanced BJJ throws but the bjj throws I have seen are by comparision kind. The BJJ mentality seems to be fight them on the ground. The Gotch mentality was crush them. Gotch techniques are the trash compactor of martial arts. Everything hurts and crushes you. Regards, C. H. Fung, D.D.S. Actually, as a Christian, FMA is one of the few martial arts I'd consider doing, because it seems to me that it is more of a practical art. A lot of martial arts involve spiritualism that I feel would compromise my faith; all I'm interested in is a practical fighting system. I have a family, and in my opinion, it would be immoral for me not to have a means of protecting them if they were threatened. Consider the following: But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. 1 Timothy 5:8 I don't think there's any question that providing for one's family implies protecting them. For someone to choose non-violence at the expense of their ability to provide for their family is a cowardly and immoral act. Up until now, I've relied on firearms to protect our home, but where I live it's illegal to carry a gun, so that limits my ability to protect my family outside of my home, which is one reason I'm starting FMA. As far as being meek, meekness does not mean weakness. In fact, meekness precludes weakness; only a strong person can be truly meek, because meekness means CHOOSING not to exercise one's power. If you are weak, you cannot make that choice; you have no power so the choice is made for you. Jesus Christ was the perfect example of meekness when He allowed Himself to be sacrificed. He could have obliterated His enemies literally without lifting a finger but He chose not to. This all reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, I wish I remembered whom to attribute it to: "I laugh at those who think themselves to be kind simply because they have no claws." One could ask the same about how evangelical Christians could reconcile owning businesses or divorcing. In Jesus's teachings as laid out in the epistles there is no sin greater than any other sin. All sins bear the same weight. Also while training no sin is actually being done. And defending your life is probably not considered sin to evangelicals. There is of course Paul's argument that if you've envisioned a sin in your mind (adultery specifically) then you've already sinned as far as God is concerned. For a literal interpretation of the Christian scripture, there are a lot of pitfalls to violence of any kind. Do you suppose the early Christians of Rome, when they were being persecuted, had they had knowledge of knife fighting or stuff like that, been justified in defending themselves using weapons or even in defending themselves at all? I do suppose there are no Quaker or Amish FMA'ers, are there? :) I don't know, but after Constantine, they didn't seem to have any moral dilemma with fighting, no matter what weapon was involved or who they fought against.
