Does it come from an injury induced by training? I was thrown and landed on my noggin once. My neck and shoulder was hooped for at least a month. A combination of chiropractic, trigger point therapy and acupuncture was performed on it, as my chiropractor is also an acupuncturist. Not sure which was more beneficial. Also, look into active release therapy. It works on soft tissue and I hear its a boon to martial arts induced injuries. But thats just second hand knowledge. Not all Sayoc Kali or Pekiti Tirsia Kali practitioners subscribe to the digest. Go to www.Sayoc.com and enter the forum section. ps: Sayoc Kali has had many names prior to Sayoc Kali, including Sayoc Fighting Systems etc. etc. Tuhon Sayoc's school in NYC was the headquarters of Pekiti Tirsia for awhile as well as a hub for many Filipino Cultural events. The Sayoc Family, were practicing Filipino Fighting arts prior to the introduction of Pekiti Tirsia Arnis(as it was known back then) Gumagalang Guro Steve L. - Kayan Dalawa Guro Sayoc Kali Pekiti Tirsia Kali PitBulls _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. The author's subject is "Now I Am Pissed Off". It is regarding the movie "The Hunted". If you visit the website. www.huntedmovie.com and click on "Kali Fighting" you will read that the background of the knife consultant on the movie has trained in Sayoc Kali. Kudos for Sayoc Kali but I do agree where the author is coming from. But, I also understand the Hollywood side - use anything that will sell. Anyway, this movie should be a great commercial marketing vehicle for Sayoc Kali. For all other systems who care or desire to jump on the bandwagon, they will have to include the following: "As Seen In The Hunted". Respectfully, Al Sardinas Student of Garimot System of Arnis The author wrote: "look for "train for combat" and then find "kali" after all of the talking we do about what are the true philippine martial arts, authtentic martial arts of the philippines TODAY....(kali vs. arnis and eskrima) now we have the non-martial arts public is told from this website, and the movie, that the ancient art of kali is pass down for hundreds of years in secret. this is so much bullshit the people who gave this information KNOWS they art is arnis-eskrima with a new "revived" name of KALI. so now, every authentic philippine martial arts instructor who might benefit from the popularity from this movie, is going to be passed over, so that the movie goer can find this "ancient secret art" of KALI. this is my problem with you guys who use the words and throw them out to all the non-FMA who dont know the truth. pananantukan, kinomutai, blind princesses, muslim kali, and everybody wears a machete....these informations are being given over and over by men who might been told the myth a long time ago, then they found out the truth, now they are continuing to tell the garbage they know is not true to people who dont know better. so where does this leave the FILIPINO philippine martial artists and his students? we are over looked, so that the ignorant can chase fancy stories about stuff they read in the magazine and computer, and now, the movies. YOU GUYS KNOW NOW, WHAT IS KALI AND WHAT IS THE TRUTH ABOUT PHILIPPINE MARTIAL ARTS, AND YOU STILL WANT TO TELL YOUR OWN VERSION OF OUR HISTORY. why not? you do it with every body else history, the filipino might as well be next." --__--__-- Message: 6 From: POWERFACTOR71839@aol.com Date: Fri, 14 Feb 2003 09:07:00 EST To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Sayoc Kali Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net In a message dated 2/14/03 6:16:38 AM, eskrima-request@martialartsresource.net writes: > > That is probably a fairly accurate description.  Before it was Sayoc Kali > it > was called > Pekiti-Tirsia Expanded. > <><><><> > George S. > So before Bo Sayoc and his family met Leo Gaje, they called their style PK Expanded? I was scheduling surgery for an impinged nerve in the front of my shoulder...freakin' excruciating pain, I couldn't even get up from a lying position without my wife's help. On the advice of one of the guys at my gym, I went to a chiropractor (who also happens to be a champion bodybuilder in our area). After four treatments, and following the therapy he recommended, the pain was completely gone, and after 3 years, has never returned. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose, except just maybe your pain....
