A dim synapse somewhere in the back of my brain is firing... Re. firearms for self-defense and as a martial art: (1) it is certainly arguable that the United States, which has been (God Bless) a gun culture in every good sense of the term for well on 250 years, has developed within it some very good methods for teaching the responsible use of firearms. (2) it is arguable that the small-team scouting and skirmishing force, epitomized by Rangers, Special Forces, SEALs, etc. is direct decendent from the colonial era adaptation of Native American fighting tactics combined with the use of firearms. What makes both #1 and #2 "martial arts" is the level of training required to be proficient at both. Then Lynn stopped carrying them and someone else bought out his stock and sold them for a little bit cheaper (or it happened the other way 'round). Anyway, I don't think you can find them any more save for the occasional score at a gun show or other used source. Wish I could find a couple more...
