He's been in the Philippines for a few years, but his son may still be teaching. That is why it is used more by LEOs than civilians. Also there is a non edged LEO version with a pointier ramp, the CMPIT I believe (close in design to the Gunting drone). For me the blade is too short. I am not a LEO, if my knife comes out of my pocket the end result will be the same as if my gun comes out of its holster. I am not interested in controlling or capturing anyone, just eliminating the threat in the most final fashion. If there is another way I would pursue that before a weapon comes into play. With all of that being said, I have settle on a Severtech for my everyday knife carry. It is a 4" tonto folder, battle ready, as strong as a pry bar, A2 steel, a real brut, reverse grip feels good in blade forward or back (because where the palm swell is), plus it is a switch blade. There should be a bumper sticker that reads, "My Severtech beat-up your Mircotech." Where I live auto knives are legal. Regardless, a longer straight blade has more fighting options, but it also depends on what you practice. --__--__-- Message: 3 From: Ray Terry To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net (Eskrima) Date: Sun, 4 May 2003 15:27:27 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [Eskrima] list slow ?
