It is very easy to find and get to. For the books, see if the National Bookstore has a copy...there are several National Bookstores around the Metro area. >From: "Oskar Wirmark" >Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net >To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net >Subject: [Eskrima] Equipment in Manilla >Date: Tue, 08 Jul 2003 15:52:22 +0000 > >Mabuhay. >This is my first mail to the list, so let me start with a thanks for lots >of interesting reading. > >I´m going down to Manilla for a month of training and I am looking for some >good shops that sell FMA stuff especially sharp swords, but I´m also >looking for books (it would be nice to find a copy of i.e. "Jungle Patrol" >or "Swish of the Kris"), training blades, videos, patches ... > >I am sorry for the grammar. The Battle Circle Trilogy by Piers Anthony. Yes, strangely enough, he actually has some good writing. The fights are based on the combatants wielding one of six weapons: double daggers, double sticks, staff, club, sword or morning star. One character is forced to renounce all the weapons and so starts wielding a rope (a steel cable really). Many of the Sayoc Kali Instructors, are already high ranked martial artists, in their own right. So to keep it consistent, I tried to add everyone's title in. As for Tuhon Torres, I am not sure how that all was settled. What I can tell you is he is a fantastic martial artist. He and his family gave us alot of material to work on! Also he gave a great interview as an early student of Tuhon Chris Sayoc, and his contacts in the Silat and FMA community.
