I know he was at Guru Dan's in LA, and alot of experienced martial artists could give an outline/opinion. For many years he was listed as persona non grata by the Federal government. Does anyone understand exactly why that was? <><><><> George S. _________________________________________________________________ Get MSN 8 and enjoy automatic e-mail virus protection. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus --__--__-- Message: 7 Date: Sat, 30 Aug 2003 16:55:43 -0700 (PDT) From: B Katz To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] A new piece in my collection Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hello All, I am writing in hopes that someone may be able to help me with the history of a bolo that has come into my posession. The blade is just a hair short of 15 inches long and measures 2" wide at the broadest part, tapering to a rather wickedly sharp point. The blade is a full 1/4" thick at the spine, distally tapered. The steel is not "watered", but appears to be hand forged, none the less. At the handle-end of the blade there is what, I hope, is a maker's mark. It looks like a capital B joined with a capital M. There could possibly be an F in between, but it is difficult to tell. The handle is 7 sided, shaped much like a "horse hoof" and appears to be carved from a single piece of ebony. The butt is of brass with a small diamond shape brazed in the center. There is also a brass collar at the blade-end of the handle. Any information on this beautiful, battered, old blade would be greatly appreciated. Many sincere thanks- Brandon __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
