If Jason Inay is actually using the title "Mangisursuro" he is doing so incorrectly, and even far worse, disrespectfully. That title was -only- to be used by Mike Inay as the founder of Inayan Eskrima. It died with him when he left us three years ago. Emanuel Hart, Jena Inay and Jason Inay can probably legally and rightfully use the Inayan title "Suro", but an Inayan should not and cannot refer to themselves as Mangisursuro. Plain application of legal principles here in the Philippines would deny that robber any relief by way of damages at all since in the first place he had no right to be there and furthermore, he was a criminal acting with criminal intent (dolo or malice). In my country there's a principle that he who comes to court must come with clean hands. Otherwise he would get nothing. Are your juries that powerful that American judges cannot apply that basic legal principle? BTW, are there any hwarangdo practitioners here on the FMA List? Can you give me feedback about it? Somebody once told me that Hwarangdo was a "fantasy" martial art, a make-believe martial art. After all I've seen and experienced in the FMA world here in the Philippines, I think a "make believe" art is preferable to a realm where there is so much betrayal, backbiting, and destroying of reputations. Truly, the FMA reflect Filipno culture--including the WORST PARTS thereof, such as backbiting, one-upmanship, tribalism, and downright lying. ===== Earn $$ just by receiving and reading email! http://www.resource-a-day.net/member/index.cgi?Brandon96 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The Inayan title of Mangisursuro was and is only used when in regard to the "founder" of Inayan Eskrima: Mike Inay. As he had set forth, no-one else will ever be granted that title. His son Jason however does have the right for use of the title Suro as he inherited it when his Father passed three years ago. Once again, just wanted to clear this up for the record and for the future. Tom Sipin has been involved heavily with WEKAF, having the distinguished title/role as the MidWest Coordinator for WEKAF in the last several years. He is also the sole heir to a family style of Arnis/Eskrima that was passed on to him by a family member. Midwesterners we urge you to support this two-day event and if it succeeds, this could become an annual camp and a good platform for FMA in the Midwest. This current lineup of instructors mentioned above will represent a wide array of FMA systems, namely Garimot, Buno/Harimaw, Hilot, Siete Pares, Doce Pares, Inayan Eskrima, Defensor Method, Pekiti-Tirsia, Tobosa/Villabrille, etc... Hwarangdo is essentially Hapkido, a reality based self-defense and combat fighting system from Korea. An excellent art.
