Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Luid Ka Brian(trans. Greetings Brian), I once saw a review article about two Valiant products on a certain blade magazine (my apologies for not remembering which publication it was). The products in particular was the barong(the author ordered a plain one and got the damascus model instead) and a Pilipino bolo. Both got favorable reviews after being tested. That's all I could remember,I hope that helps a little. Sasalpantaya (trans. I just wanted a little bit more information about it. I went to their website and was interesting but I think it's not the "traditional" style of teaching. Where we start with a weapon and go to open hands. Hey I am the last person to critisize on how a person teaches his or her art. But I was wondering what are your thoughts on this. In order to call it a Filipino Martial Arts, should the trainning or educating of the students start with a weapon (knife, olisi, etc...) and then progressed to empty hands? Just curious. Was this Pungong Guro's Pananandata system? I spoke with Grand Master Ramiro Estalilla not too long ago and we got to talking about Punong Guro Marinas. Grand Master has the highest respect for Punong Guro Mat Marinas. (I understand that he also teaches the 4' whip in his system.) I have not spoken with Sigung Ed Bansuelo about this but I mentioned to Grand Master that it would be great if we could host Punong Guro Marinas here in Sacramento (or Fresno) for a day. Grand Master thought it would be great. We'll see what develops.
