Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Crafty, I just wanted say "Thank you" for putting on yet another great event. The timing was perfect since Manong Olavides has been visiting the Philippines. Manong Olavides and I both enjoyed the sportsmanship displayed by all the participants. I hope that everyone who did received injuries are on the way to a speedy recovery. (You mentioned a hand shot in a earlier post) Keep up the great work! See you at the next one...... KK is for "Krabi Krabong" the Thai military system from which the ring sport of Muay Thai descended. > , , , > Ste O > From: Phil Hurcum ironmao@yahoo.com > > Holy smokes, finally two big names I can comment on!!! He showed me personally two takedowns, one which ended with him running over my body after kicking me in the prostate. He stepped on my head. Yeehaw. It was a good time. Tail wags for the kind words Phil. > As far as Stephan is concerned, I have had the pleasure of knowing and training with him for the last 5 years. This guy is one of those that unfortunately just doesn't have the name recognition he deserves. I own every one of his tapes so far. Without fail, he produces a winner every time. He comes to teach my guy's, used to be once a month, he filled every seat. Even the odd complainer type guy couldn't say a word vs. him. Go to his website > http://www.grapplearts.com > and look at his credentials. Top notch right across the line. To top it all off the guy is a decorated hero. No kidding. This is starting to sound like a Matt Furey super deluxe full page add so I'll end it. Money spent on DogBrothers tapes and Stephans material is money well spent. Get some guy's together and get either person to come to your town, you won't regret it. I too would like to express my regard for Stefan. Last time he was at my house he showed me one of th slickest wrist locks (an area of interest to me) I've seen in quite some time and one with which I have nailed a surprising number of people. I have his Omo Plata videos and find them to be a excellent comprehensive overview and well edited to boot. > From: "Mark F. Hollywood but as for law school, your post reminds of the story of the husband whose request for anal sex was turned down by his wife. "Why not?" he asked. Amazon.com--Mark V. Wiley's book on Arnis has the following information on your book; Placido Yambao's Mga Karunungan sa Larong Arnis, published in 1957. There is some historical background in Wiley's book on Yambao and the book, but that is it. 2. Library of Congress--No results using ISBN, Author, or title. I guess it might not have been published or widely sold in the U.S. 3 Ebay--Same results as Library of Congress 4. My very good local library came up empty. You'll either have to make contact with a rare book dealer, go to the P. I. and try and track it down, or learn Tagalog and try a search of filipino databases. That would be my guess. Sorry I couldn't help more. Eric Living in a Land of Virtual Reality. --Rusted Root _________________________________________________________________ Need a shot of Hank Williams or Patsy Cline?
