Most of them were painted black 440 stainless steel made in China and had the word "sharper" etched in them. Does anyone know if they have a website or where I could acquire a catalog? I just liked the affordability and the simplicity of these blades at that price, if anyone knows of knives that fall into this catagory other than these any suggestions would be appreciated... _________________________________________________________________ Our best dial-up offer is back. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net I thought that as a study of motion the show was actually pretty cool. I dont think the sort of details that the people in this forum want to see would ever make it onto a show designed to appeal to the masses. That would be too specific for most folks to understand...or care about. I do think that the people profiled practice something that is closer to gymnastics than martial arts...but any study of movement regardless of the art can be helpful. "I hate getting hit in the face. I get hit in the face and I just want to hit them back. I lose my gameplan." IMHO, that right there tells me that he's not a very good martial artist. Getting hit in the face is inevitable - if that's all it takes to throw him then he (a) needs a lot more training and (b) has no business competing to begin with - and never mind thinking about him being able to actually fight. The HC program is called "Deadly arts". It follows a Quebecois lady called Josette Normandeau through various MAs. She has done Capoeira, Indian Kala - sonmething-or -another, Savatte (with la Canne thrown in) and Aikido. Today she is doing Muy Thai and Karate. The programs are interesting in that she travels to the places of origin of the respective arts and meets significant practitioners of each art and trains with them. She is a mature lady with a pedigree ("25 years of martial arts experience", which means sod all, but a black belt in Aikido, which is more meaningful). She looks the part when learning the various disciplines. A martial artist would I am sure like more details on the arts themselves and the techniques involved. Overall, however, it is a pleasant experience watching Josette travel through some interesting corners of the world and meet some fascinating characters (the 89-year old La Canne master was wonderful). Anyway, Wednesday nights, History Channel.
