I feel I am being attacked because Bruce is behind bars.  This information is not for a revolt. It is for physical training and information. he choses his students by what their objectives are.  He is not training them to cause trouble and anyone that has that inclination will not be his student. I met someone last year who was teaching yoga at a prison in England. He told me that the 'lifers' were a bunch of the worst offenders in the land but the yoga had simply taken them into a different understanding. He has conversations with people who are discussing deep seated philisophical questions realting to yoga principles and practicing diligently. The prison had increased the number of lessons and incidents within the prison with the participents had reduced dramtically according to my acquaintence I don't offer opinion, only recounting the tale Pat Davies --__--__-- Message: 2 Date: Wed, 17 Dec 2003 12:40:35 +0100 From: abanico-video-knuettel@t-online.de (=?ISO-8859-1?Q?Dieter_Kn=FCttel?=) Organization: Abanico To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Important: wrong bank numbers on the fma-festival-flyers Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hello everybody, we just realised, that we made a bad mistake on the international bank numbers which you need, when you want to send money to registrate for the festival. This is unfortunately also printed in the english flyers and was on all of the download flyers in english, spanisch, french and italian language. This of course causes a lot of stress right now. All download flyers on the fma-website are corrected now and have the right numbers on it. You can find the flyers on our website http://www.fma-festival.de Here are the correct IBAN and BIC numbers: IBAN: DE49 3545 0000 0202 0793 85 BIC: WELADED1MOR Please use these numbers if sending money regarding the registration for the FMA-Festival If you have flyers or information about the festival on your website, we would appreciate, if you could correct the wrong information accordingly. Thanks and sorry for the trouble. Hope to see many of you in Germany Dieter Knüttel --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Wed, 17 Dec 2003 11:07:16 -0800 (PST) From: Karol Krauser Subject: [Eskrima] TKD/FMA in Arizona To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net I dont know how far Mesa is from Sedona but I know a very good instructor there in the FMA. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net How to find "War clubs, cuddles, fish bats, bobby sticks, tribal weapons." Norm, There are a few places to look for different types of clubs and such. Mostly for inexpensive things, you will need to search though junk stores and the antique shops, and possibly ebay. On line you can do searches on war clubs and get hundreds of sites listed, I did a simple search that brought up over 211 sites that sell different types of clubs, war clubs, cuddles, and such. In addition, there are a number of such things on sale and listed on ebay at reasonable prices. Because I teach and I have traveled globally over the years, I have received many interesting clubs, bats, sticks, cuddles, and assorted blunt weapons from students, teachers and admires. Over the past 3 months I have received 2 very interesting additions to my blunt weapons collection. The most recent gift came from one of my students, he gave me an old fish bat from the 1850s its about the same size and weight as the old style police bobby batons that were used in England during the 1800s and early 1900s. The Bat I received as a gift is most likely to pricey of a purchase for what you are looking for. However, I believe they still make fish bats and are found used at a decent price but of latter dates in junk stores and second hand stores. Especially near fishing towns throughout the US and Europe.( fish bat: a bat or club to kill the fish as you bring it out of the water with your pole or net then ie you hit it hard on the head to finish killing it" ) Another type of club I received a few months back was from the Indian chieftain here in the mountains, where I spend part of my month working and living. It is very similar to a Filipino weapon (that my brain dead mind cant remember the name of right now) that resembles a five-foot staff with a large hard wood ball on the end. However, The one I received is wrapped in leather with Indian tassels and beads hanging off it to scare your opponent to death just by the juju in it. lol or so I was told when it was made for me. Therefore, to help you find things such as the ones I have when you search, you should also look for Native American or tribal war clubs. The American Indians used many different types of weapons and many weapons evolved as most tribal warriors weapons would have, and why many times weapons of any kind of warring tribe will be similar, regardless of what part of the world they lived and fought in. futhermore there are still many authentic American Indian artisans that sill create these types of weapons, and you can find inexpensive replicas on many of the traditional American tribal websites made by them.
