He teaches the 18 Doaist Palms, they break cocnuts. The coconut is the closes thing to a human head, from what I understand it takes 1400lb per sq inch to break the skull and 1600 for a coconut (and all of you said the XMA show was useless, see what I learned) I have seen him do CRAZY stuff to cocnuts, he breaks them while they hang from a string, he breaks them in his hand, he does not break them with a ring, now he breaks them across the land. (Sorry it just came to me and I couldn't help myself, I just saw the cat in the hat). They do some other cool stuff to, he will line up 5-10 guys smack the first one in the chest and not leave a mark on any of them except the last guy will have a red hand print on his chest (I Stuff you not). I have not purchased any but I would amagine that his ointment is pretty good. Fred C. Jay de Leon --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Sat, 20 Dec 2003 10:43:46 -0800 (PST) From: Kristine Strasburger To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Dit da Jow Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Dit da Jow is effective in speeding healing of bruises whenever it is applied. It is best to apply it as soon after injury as possible, as that lets it get to work right away, but I have waited as long as a week before putting on the first application, and it still speeds the healing of the bruise. I have even heard of people applying it to the arms and hands BEFORE a hard workout, but I am not sure if this helps or not. You should rub it on the bruised area with a firm circular motion (whenever possible) for 2 to 3 minutes per injured area. And you should apply the Dit da Jow twice or three times a day. This should be continued until the bruise is gone. This is a time consuming process if you have a lot of small strike areas, but it is really worth it. If you have good Dit da Jow your bruises will frequently be gone in a week or less IF you have been conscientious in applying the medicine. The rubbing motion will cause the bruises to become much darker at first, and it will also hurt a bit to apply it this way as the area is already tender, but this is necessary to the process of dispersing the blood (the bruise). Dit da Jow seems to improve with age, and when the herbs and sediments are left in the bottle with the liquid. This is one of the reasons why people choose to make their own. Well-aged Dit da Jow is as valuable as liquid gold. The pre-made bottles are still good, and maybe some companies sell an unfiltered, aged product, but most of the ones I have come across through retail outlets are filtered, and not nearly as effective as the home-brewed stuff. Dit da Jow is not supposed to be applied to open cuts or wounds. I don't think it will kill you, but it will sure sting. It is also not supposed to be taken internally. If you are making it at home you can use either grain alcohol (such as vodka) or Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. If you make it with Isopropyl alcohol it will be toxic if taken internally, and you should make sure the bottle is adequately labeled with a warning not to drink it. Grain alcohol is much more expensive to use, but you can have peace of mind knowing that if someone accidentally drinks it, it will not kill them. You may think it improbable that someone might drink it, but it did happen at my house. My husband's brother was visiting, and had a sore throat. I wasn't home, so my husband pulled a bottle out of the cabinet that he thought was the herbal remedy we use for colds, and gave his brother a dose of it. Well, he didn't read the label on the bottle first, and gave him the Dit da Jow to drink. It didn't kill him, poor guy, but he did loose his voice for a couple of days. Thankfully, I had made my Dit da Jow with Vodka. Hope this info helps. Kristine Strasburger Heartland School of Eskrima and Self-Defense __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New Yahoo!
