I have a rough outline of what I am going to do, but I am very open to ideas. I am about to start teaching in a very commercial health club setting, and I have questions: 1. What would you put emphasis on in a four or eight week session (I want to keep the curriculum as self-defense oriented as possible,as a majority of my students will be correctional officers, and due to staffing cuts under a new program under a new commissioner, we are seeing an escalation of weapons made and assaults by inmates.)? 2. Has anyone had good rates and coverage from an insurance company that doesn't seem to be afraid of FMA's because of weapons usage? 3. Is anyone a member of MAIA or NAPMA, and is their material workable for FMA's? Rocky, I will either call or e-mail you directly off digest about this, and our phone conversation recently. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Actually Blaise's credentials are pretty well documented. He has trained with many great instructors. I think the presentation is just a little off-putting to some. -Steve Kohn >From: ulfhead@integrity.com >Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net >To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net >Subject: [Eskrima] Re: Info. on Blaise Loong's system. >Date: Tue, 17 Feb 2004 22:55:38 -0600 (CST) > >(1)Silat Sabungin is a BLEND that Blaise Loong developed based on short >knife >fighting technologies that he learned in the Philippines, Malaysia & >Indonesia. Here in the US this gear is expensive to say the least. To order a helmet and body armor would cost over $200 dollars. Well I have found a source located in the Phillipines. Now I know the sites selling this gear actually gets their stuff from sources in other countries. They just inflate the price because of the shipping cost prehaps. I just recently ordered and recieved 4 helmets at $45 each 4 body armors at $50 each 1 pair of arm and shin guards $14 1 Kali stlye uniform $29.95 2 stick cases at $2.50 each It took only 1 week to complete this order and 2 days from the date he specified they shipped to arrive. All of the gear is of high quality. He doesn't inflate the price and he has an absolute wonderful shopping list for everything you need. As a matter of fact. To prove to me that his stuff is high quality and he actually has what he advertises, he shipped my gear 1 helmet, 1 stick case and 1 body armor before I paid him. He is located at http://www.sinawalitrade.com . His name is Toby. Tell his Anthony Johnson from The Palmdale Academy of Martial Arts sent you.
