By way of introduction, my name is Steve Doyle and I own Celtic Sword Productions which can be located at www.CelticSword.com . For the last 15+ years, my company has been dedicated to the promotion of Torke’ Blaise Loong and the Blays-Halla Battle Academy. At my website you can read the numerous magazine articles about Blaise from such noted publications as Black Belt Magazine and others. I will begin to post the many other articles that I have not yet added to further support his claims. I challenged you to enter my website and read for yourself these independent articles. Blaise has been featured in Black Belt Magazine several times, in Filipino Martial Arts Magazine, in Full Contact and others. You will note that Blaise’s website is located at www.blayshalla.com and supported by other sites such as www.Boneheadllc.com , and the newly emerging www.Yashai.com . These sites, along with my own, each contain supporting documentation for the claims made. Checkout the “archives” page of www.blayshalla.com for additional photographic evidence to support his claims. I have known Blaise since 1975. I was with him when we trained under Guro Ted Lucaylucay, when we trained under Sifu Dan Inosanto,and many others. I was with him when Blaise taught at Sifu Inosanto’s Academy I trained under Blaise for many years, as well. I was with him during our stint in Special Forces and was the best man at his wedding. I write this with the personal knowledge that I have known the man for 29 years, have trained with and bled with him. I write with the personal knowledge of where this man has been, who he trained under and who he has in turn trained. I write this with the knowledge as someone who can verify his claims and deeds. Note that posts from Jotunn or Tyrkon are people who personally know Blaise, as well. There will be other post coming from those who can confirm the validity of the claims that have the credentials to validate. Still not convinced. Those of you who have had or will have contact with Sifu Dan Inosanto should feel free to inquire of him about Blaise. Sifu Dan Inosanto will tell you that Blaise is the real deal. Sifu Inosanto has said on more than one occasion, If you want to see how Bruce (Lee) did it, watch Blaise”. Still don’t believe me, buy one of Blaise’s DVD’s. Still not convinced but don’t want to take the chance on buying a DVD - write me and I will loan you one of my personal copies. Typical weekend warrior’s always challenge the validity of the claims of the real warrior’s. Not a believer yet, then take the time to follow up instead of attacking in ignorance. You don’t have to like us, but you do have to consider our claims and our ability to verify those claims. No one can disprove the truth. As someone who has actually met and trained with Mr. Loong, I feel that I would be remiss if I did not share my opinion of Mr. Loong with your list members. However, before I share my assessment of Mr. Loong in this regard, I believe it would be appropriate to first share my credentials as a martial artist. I am a twenty-year veteran of the martial arts with instructor ranking in numerous disciplines, and owned a small but highly successful studio for many years. While most of my experience revolves around the empty-handed arts, I have trained in FMA on-and-off since the late eighties, both in formal classes as well as through regularly attending seminars with a few of the more popular FMA/Blade/Stick instructors who are regulars on the circuit. Being somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to the validity of the spectacular claims that some well-known martial arts instructors make, I am careful as to who I train with. Like most of us who have been around the arts for awhile, I consider my own time and money to be much too valuable to be wasted on training with charlatans and hucksters. Having said that, I must also state that with regards to Mr. Loong, I can personally attest to both his skill as a practitioner of the FMA and his efficacy as an instructor of stick and knife combat. I can see how Blaise's unique expression of his martial art practice might come across as being a bit unorthodox, due to his fascination with ancient cultures and his willingness to experiment with historically accurate methods from those cultures. Regardless of this, his skills are beyond reproach. Should anyone wish to validate his skills and/or ability to teach, I would suggest that they set aside time to attend one of his seminars. I can honestly state that anyone looking for no-nonsense and realistic stick, knife, and empty-hand training will find that Blaise delivers on all counts in his seminars. Best regards, Michael D. I am writing you today to offer you and your subscribers the highest testimonial and recommendation for Blaise and Yashai Warcraft. A little of my personal background first. I started my martial arts career in 1988. I currently hold a 2nd degree Black Belt rank in Kempo Karate with Brunswick Martial Arts Academy in Brunswick, Maine. I have also held a Black Sash ranking in a Kung Fu style called Tien Shan Pai from Body Balance Tai Chi and Kung Fu in Clarksburg, Maryland. I met Blaise in 1998 when he came to Brunswick Martial Arts Academy to give a seminar in Yashai Warcraft. I was GREATLY impressed and have not missed any of his seminars since. I thought his techniques were fluid, swift and devastatingly effective using knives, eskrima sticks and empty hands. Blaise also demonstrated that the Yashai system is very adaptable. He demonstrated how a technique with, or against, a knife could be adapted to an eskrima stick, sword or even empty hands. I found Blaise and his assistants to be a very capable instructors who could articulate the purpose of each technique and would take time with anyone having troubles to make sure the student was effective with the technique. On top of all that, Blaise is a very personable and outgoing man that I, for my part at least, am proud to claim as a friend. To sum up, I know Blaise Loong and the art he teaches. I consider both to be of the HIGHEST quality and merit and I would encourage you and your subscribers to attend the next seminar in your area or to at least buy his videos.
