Sincere condolences to the LESKAS and LSAI people. Maestro Ybanez passed away on Wednesday March 31, at 5:15 am, in Seattle, Washington." To the Family, Friends and Students of Maestro Ybanez, my deepest and sincerest condolences go out to you in respect for the loss you are feeling. A year ago I looked him up on one of my visits to Seattle. His face beamed with true joy when I related to him my wonderful experience I had when I met Guro Nathan and Guro Jon and yourself Professor Bot and all of the other LESKAS students at UP Dillman. I was traveling with 3 other of my Bahala Na brothers and you all were very gracious and camaraderie in exchanging your knowledge, philosophy and techniques with us. So when I met Maestro Elmer, he was very happy to hear that you all were doing great, training hard and growing. I related to him in how inspired I was to see and experience the level of skill and intensity that Guro Nathan and Guro Jon was imparting at the Dillman campus. Maestro Elmer was so generous that he introduced me to his other Seattle students and taught me the basic strikes, defenses and footwork to advance & retreat. I was very sad to read your email Professor Bot. If there is an address that I can send flowers to please let me know. Condolences to the family, students and friends of Maestro Elmer Ybanez. Truly another great loss to the FMA family. Bot, I know you've probably been asked many times before, but can you tell us who are the remaining "first" generation Maestros left in Mang Ben's lineage, or Maestro Elmer's contemporaries, and where they are? If you are so inclined, you can also mention the "second" generation players and where they are, which would include you. Maestro, till We All meet again in another FMA Gathering up there where you are now. God Bless! My privilegde to be one of the Instructors and meet Master Elmer Ybanez in Seattle for the first FMA Expo in 2003. He was a tribute to FMA and his expertise in his Art were extraordinary. A true picture of a Warrior and a Gentleman. I learned some of his system and was eager to see him again in Vegas this year so I could learn some more. These techniques I will keep in memory of him. We will surely miss him , but we know he will be there in spirit with his students that will come to the event. We will see you then in Vegas! Your Brother in the Art; Master Jorge V.
