My training in the Military was to use a lanyard on my Gerber MK II to prevent the knife slipping out of your hand. Now we would use a length of parachute cord, and cut it long enough to be able to change grip positions with the handle. Just curious as to others take on this position. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Everyone, I just received a brand new copy of SINAWALI by Rey Galang, published by Tuttle Publishing for Bakbakan International, from a friend. I like the book but since I already have access to the same (a similar copy being with another friend who agreed many months ago to lend it to me), I am thinking of swapping it for a brand new or even a SLIGHTLY USED (even dog-eared or notated) copy of KALIS ILUSTRISIMO by Tony Diego and Topher Ricketts. It's not sold here in the Philippines. Actually, I mentioned that second book (Ilustrisimo) to my friend who gave me the SINAWALI book, and he said he actually saw a "Kalis Ilustrisimo" book at National Bookstore and described it as a "white paperback". I was surprised since I had never seen such a book whenever I regularly visit National Bookstore, and asked him to buy it for me if he sees it. So he bought it, and it turned out that he was referring to this SINAWALI book (not exactly what I was hoping to get). So is anyone in the US (or even here in the Philippines) willing to swap a KALIS ILUSTRISIMO book (the one with master Yuli Romo on the cover with two sticks and in indigenous attire) for the SINAWALI book by master Rey Galang? I really would appreciate it. Thanks! ===== Earn $$ just by receiving and reading email! http://www.resource-a-day.net/member/index.cgi?Brandon96 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? What is important is you are training in the art that you like. A very good choice cause I myself is a convert. Kali was not my first art but when I needed to defend myself twice against the knife my training in Kali came in very handy. Again congrtulations and keep up the good work.
