Aglipay Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Best regards all, On several occassions, GM Ramiro Estalilla, Jr. would tell me the story of how his father Ramiro Sr. had studied under his grandfather Major Eusebio Estalilla. Major Eusebio was the eskrima training partner to General Antonio Luna and Bishop Gregorio Aglipay. It was Bishop Aglipay who introduced my uncle, Ramiro Sr. to Kabaroan GM Don Mariano Rigonan. This brought to mind another historical figure connention to MA, i.e. President Theodore Roosevelt with his "big stick" and judo interests. This shouldn't come as a surprise, being Military therefore Martialists. Would whoever it was be so kind as to contact me directly at Craftydog@dogbrothers.com ? Thank you, Crafty Dog --__--__-- Message: 4 From: "L. E." I had sent an earlier post, but it must have been lost in the e(mail) along with the rest of the Income Tax efilers. Most likely an inadvertent error on my part. GM Ramiro Estalilla, Jr. would tell me stories of his father Ramiro Sr. having learned Eskrima from his grandfather, Major Eusebio Estalilla. The elder Eusebio was training partner to General Antonio Luna and Bishop Gregorio Aglipay. It was Bishop Aglipay who introduced my uncle, Ramiro Sr. to Kabaroan GM Don Mariano Rigonan. When told the story, it was reminiscent of President Theodore Roosevelt's (another historical figure) connection to his "big stick" and judo interests. This should not be so surprising, being military men therefore martialists.
