It can be use against longer weapons like a bo baseball bat or hockey stick. I would like to give him an Escrima lesson, and no I don't like his music (or Elvis' music for that matter!)... too bad he was taught Escrima at all. I don't hate him, but I also would never endorse his music. Ever. Westside and I'm out. Fred C. Also his school was an official sister school of ours and joined us whenever we had guests such as Leo Giron or dan Inosanto come to our class. Also, many guros from our school taught Serrada at his school and Mike Inay gave sometimes seminars there. I have a video from one of the seminars filmed in the early 80s. Shortly thereafter Jeff Elliott took over the instruction duties with myself helping out. There was a class every Friday night at Ernie Reyes Sr.'s school. Attending were normally 3 to 6 students with Ernie Sr., Ernie Jr., George Chung usually in attendance. Instruction included for the most part Serrada with a little Larga Mano and Kadena De Mano thrown in. There were also various instructors from the Bay Area dropping over to Mike's house for instruction both privately and in class. This includes a few individuals that to this day refuse to give Mike any credit for his instructing them. Instruction spread throughout the Ernie Reyes' organization and included Ed Fong, Tony Thompson, Art True and others. I do not know if Ernie Reyes' association with Jimmie Tacosa predated Ernie's association with Mike but I don't believe that it did. And how would this incident affect one's appreciation for the music of either band member? This is like a heavy metal version of the Emin Bozetepe/William Cheung incident -- it tells us almost nothing about the relative abilities of either man (anyone can screw up and have an, "I hope nobody saw that" moment) but speaks volumes about the damage that can be done by ego and temper. Politics (or whatever term best applies to the conflict of opposing metal bands) can leave a black eye on peoples' reputations that no amount of punching can inflict, regardless of the theater in which their conflict takes place. Phil www.themartialist.com PS: If I lose my temper, it's not the fault of any of my instructors. It's mine. They do their best but, ultimately, they cannot control my actions any more than I can control theirs. Fred O wrote: Here is one for all you Danzig fanz out there.
