In fact a "dirty #1" can do many things in that area...it need not be cleanly delivered. Likewise the #2 to the opponents right shoulder tip.... > #8 - Vertical cut strait up at crotch / chin See: Sayoc. Not quite a cut "up" toward the crotch but a thrust to the (?) pernial(sp). Some say "taint" although I do not like to use that word except for lack of a better descriptive term here. Note that I do not study these arts so YMMV. Not quite a cut "up" toward the crotch blew that one too.... OK. Lets see if I can get this right the second time around. Probably not. ;-) I was way off on what I considered with regard to the arts named, I picked them out of the air...all FMA that I have seen or read about use angles or striking patterns that _can_ target any of the points named. I've studied a little and I could use strikes in either to hit the locations named. If you need some explicit systems then you are going to have to do the legwork. Your question after much careful thought and some research(books off the shelf)...reveal that many if not all FMA use similar angles and in reality the angle of any stroke or thrust in FMA can be (note can be) any of the 360 degrees, any thrusts can be to any target. Anything less and the art would be superficial or flawed. The fact that strikes are applied to a specifc location may be unique, but what would probably be most unique would be the sequence of the strikes, blocks, or FLOW. Flow is the...OK I'm going to get a little verklempt here, Flow in FMA is the most unique, most beautiful thing to see and encounter in MA if it is performed by a well practiced master. The numbers...in my opinion you've got to get past the numbers when discussing FMA because in FMA they exist for skills development and in being able to discuss methodology between like practicing groups of people. Not all FMA have the same numbering systems, strike patterns, etc. I would be best to tell you to go take a few classes. I think you can figure out most of the stuff for yourself if you picked up a few texts...hope I didn't cause any "damage" to development here. Someone with more experience may be of more help.
