I'm not sure if you can find them anymore (I heard he ran into some insurance problems with it), but ask around. It would be well worth the search if you could track one down. LEP's seldon have enough training to effectively hit anything with a baton. THey have no Idea how to generate power, or even what part of the baton to strike with. Additionally ask them how may hours they have spent practicing with a baton, compaired to a gun. The ASP is a tool, and a very effective one, they just dont have a clue about how it works. I have a former student who is a state trooper he used his ASP (24") on a person resisting arrest and openend his arm like a ball park frank. Bigger isn't always better. "Ive spoken to a few of my fellow officers who all echo that it seems to be not too effective in hitting heavy muscular areas and only marginally effective if bony areas are struck due to it's light weight and small diameter of striking area(end piece) and balance in the handle." _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? It is reliable. It is well made. It is available in sizes suitable to all law enforcement assignments from patrol to undercover. I switched from the ASP baton and have never been more satisfied. Not switching to the Monadnock Autolock because of cost is a non-arguement. A law enforcement officer's safety or anyones personal safety for that matter, is priceless. ----- Original Message ----- > > > Ive heard soem dsay it can collapse when used for thrusting and have said the > auto locker from Modadanock was a good tool, but have not run across anyone > who has bought one due to it's cost($99.00) --__--__-- Message: 4 Subject: Re: [Eskrima] The Three Animals of Eskrima (Felipe Jocano) Date: Wed, 1 Sep 2004 12:03:02 -0400 From: "Clint Cayson" To: Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hello Bot, I used to visit the library in UP-Diliman and UP-Cebu before finishing my MBA most of the time in UP-Diliman. Once the current owner does not renew their domain, after receiving many reminders, anyone may then pay for and register the name. It's called a Ninja Whip Belt and from the pictures on it's website appears to be nothing more than an overpriced metal wire hidden inside a belt. You can view it and read about it's use at http://ninja.hitj.co.jp/ Seems to me that a belt by itself would be just as effective if not more so than the wire. Anyway, I'd be interested to hear the members of this lists thoughts on it's practicality for such use. Blessings, Rez Johnson "Standing guard on old, forgotten roads, that no one travels anymore." It seemed to me m hits with a rattan had more power behind them than when I used my Rattan .  JAck --__--__-- Message: 10 From: "Mike Casto" To: Subject: Re: [Eskrima] Ninja Whip Belt Date: Wed, 1 Sep 2004 13:55:46 -0400 Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net >From the looks of it, it's kind of like a sjambok. If so, it could be very effective. Those things hurt. And a stainless steel one would hurt bad. But aside from impact, it would make a really good flexible weapon for binding/strangling/etc. One advantage it would seem to have over a basic belt is speed/ease of deployment. Most belts don't come off all that quickly - first you've got the buckle to deal with then you've got the stutter effect as it goes through the loops - it can be done quickly but it takes *a lot* of practice. >From the looks of this thing, it would come out quick and smooth. Also, your belt would still be there to hold your pants up :-) Of course, since I rarely wear a belt, it's of little use to me. And even if I did, I'm not sure it'd be worth $120 to me. But it is an interesting idea. I ask that if you decide to respond, do so to my personal email, chosen1j@hotmail.com. I have a 14 year old daughter that went on her annual visitation to her mother in California for the summer she is 14, I live in New York and have had custody of my daughter and son since they were 4 and 5 years old they have lived with me since before my daughter was 1. Any way my daughter decides that she want s to stay with her mom. I tell her if that is what she wants then come home and lets discuss it and decide whether that is a wise decision, and if so then we can plan it. Okay now it comes time for her to come home and two hours before she is suppose to arrive back her in NY she calls me and tells me she didn't get on the plane, so I told her regardless of what she thinks or how she feels right now she needs to get on a plane and then we can talk about it. So I talk with her mother and we are in sort of an agreement, at least I thought so. Now evening comes and a couple of her friends apparently conference called her and they called me right after and told me to call my daughter she's crying and wants to come home. So I call we talk she wants to come home, I'm happy I tell her to have her mother get back to me with flight info, now the next day I here nothing from either of them, I have called numerous times I get an answering machine. Today I still here nothing, I'm not sure what to do from here. I know we have some law enforcment professionals on this form and I am hoping that some one might be able to stear me in the right direction as to what I should do, how does the law or the court handle this type of thing between states. I'm a county employee and I have some people looking into this for me, but as an ancious father, the answers are not coming quick enough. I've gone through this once before about ten years ago, I talk with everyone I could think of the courts my lawyer, law enforcment in NY and in California, and nobody was willing to make a move with out info from one of the other, basically I couldn't have anything done. So I jumped on a plane grabbed my son and daughter and made it back to New York. I'm hoping to avoid this step, there has to be a legal way to take care of this since I do have custody of my daughter, I have the papers but what good is my custody agreement if no one will act on them. Any and all information would be helpful, please I need answers fast, the school years is starting and I want my daughter home. Please like I said respond to my private email address. Thank you for your help. Peace Out John _________________________________________________________________ Get ready for school!
