Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Lots of people are using these, including KR Training here in Austin: http://www.krtraining.com/KRTraining/Classes/at_five.html "Course Description: An intensive force-on-force training course that will improve the student's ability to perform in realistic, real-time, live action situations involving one or more opponents, one or more bystanders and one or more dependents (friends/family members that the student is protecting)." I haven't made it to one of his classes, so I can't vouch, but it's pretty high up on my "to do" list. WoodyTX, firm believer that weapons training should include ALL weapons. See a site like airsoftshogun.com for specifics on guns, models, etc. But in short the gas blowback BB pistols are replica knockoffs of the real thing, once charged with "Green Gas" (no comments Rocky) they operate like the real McCoy. They shoot 6mm plastic BBs @ 300 fps and they weigh 0.25 gram, some BBs are lighter (and cheaper). The plastic BBs are softer, but you can still feel it when hit. Eye protection is a must. Drills we do are things like shooting & moving, use of cover and concealment while engaging targets (people), multiple attackers, shooting while on the ground, get yourself all amped up and then see how well you can engage a target approaching you, perhaps the Tueller Drill, etc. All the types of things that one frequently only gets a chance to do at a school like Gunsite or Thunder Ranch. Use of the Airsoft guns makes the drills more realistic and fairly safe (did I mention that eye protection is a must).
