I have a friend who is going through a post doctoral residency program at the University of Wyoming (to become a psychologist). He's a martial arts buddy of mine. He ran into a guy named Dr. Tim Sheehan who apparently runs the "Colorado/Wyoming Chapter of Modern Arnis" and claims that Professor Presas authorized him to open this chapter in 1979. My friend has asked me if this guy is legit. Despite having been involved in the IMAF (and being on the Board of Directors) for a number of years and knowing who most of the Modern Arnis players are in the US, I have not heard of this guy. Has anyone here heard of this Dr. Tim Sheehan ? If so, please let me know. Thanks !! The show was only 30 mins long, but what I saw them teaching wasn't all that impressive. But then how much can you fit in a half-hour show... Ray Terry" Ray, Don't know about that but Rich does some interesting drills including the use of focus mitts with Airsoft (haven't seen that before), force on force, shooting on the move, use of the FIST suit (incorporating empty hand and gun) and drills that make a lot of sense to any eskrimador. From a firearms instructor standpoint, Rich's DVD's contain some new perspectives (the newest one is Legitimate Training with Airsoft) that are refreshing considering some of the lousy tapes and DVD's making their way to the market. Even if you don't agree with the methods, the training ideas from the DVD's are excellent. Also if you are looking for quality Airsoft gas pistols you can contact Rich. Truly the weakness in the past with this training technology has been the poor quality of the pistols. Mabuhay ang Inayan eskrima! I may be moving soon to this area and I was curious if anyone knew of anyone? I'm not too particular about the style, even any silat styles would be great! The Belt had a buckle that could be twisted 180 degrees so you could utilize the different color on each side of the belt. As I recall the belt was held with the buckle end being flicked out with a side or underhand movement. Looked like it would smart if you were at the receiving end of that buckle! Looks like a great idea, everybody could wear a Belt. As for your pants falling down while using this concept, I can't help you there. Bill F. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
