The technique creates a plane used to deflect incoming force and is immediately followed up. It doesn't have to be "strong," in that you're not meeting the strike with muscle. Also, like all techniques in Wing Chun, the bon sao should be performed with "forward energy" -- thrusting the technique into the attack, rather than allowing it to just limply sit there. It allows the defender to meet the attack and creates some time for you whilst setting up a more powerful counter. -------------- - Phil Elmore --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "I F" To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Date: Mon, 18 Oct 2004 08:51:12 +0000 Subject: [Eskrima] cliffstewart.com Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hi, Has anyone on the list got any experiences ordering tapes from www.cliffstewart.com? I ordered a tape at the end of June and the money went out of my account shortly after the order was made. However, I still haven’t received anything, nor do they answer my emails. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same? He especially likes customizing it based on an outline of your favorite knife/sword design. Great quality for the price if you want a basic, nicely-shaped (and personalized), no-frills trainer. Prices are in Canadian dollars, so it would depend on the exchange rate how this compares to other companies. You might also ask if there are deals for bulk orders...
