Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Mr. Sardinas raises an interesting point. "In my opinion close quarter fighting favors the shorter person. In largomano there is no height advantage. Respectfully, Al Sardinas Student of Garimot System of Arnis" I'm 6' tall but very long in the arms, I wear a 43 long coat 9 (I'm really not a primate, I swear :) ) I also feel most at home in the largo distance. I wonder if this is my propencity to use follow & meet methods and use the riposte strikes? Does anyone have an opinion ast o weather this may be due to my "fighting personality" or my build? Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net I'm 5' 10", only because I have an extra lumbar vertebrae, so I've got short arms for my height. Really; I've got the X-rays to back it up. Let's just say that your Medio is my Largo, and your Largo is out of reach for me. In other words, you would be able to hit my body/head/leg before I could hit yours. You would have more targets available at almost any given distance. On the other hand, I've found that my shape (220 lbs, long torso) is good for grappling. As I see it, my short limbs provide less leverage to my opponent, and can be more easily moved through tight spaces.
