If I may drift on a light-hearted tangent here? For some reason this reminds me of a day several years ago when Carl Franks was at my house and he showed me some Laotian Silat that he had learned from a little old Laotian man in Hawaii. Very interesting footwork btw! Carl was showing me how he was blending it with his BJJ and we started riffing on names for the blend: Jiu Silat; Juicy Lot; Jew See a Lot; Jew C. Lot, etc We thought we were pretty funny. It would be awkward if I started without any background. Then an on and off (more an off than on) training when I was in Cebu City. I hope this answer your question. Thanks. To get to involved in the rankings takes away from the trainin and might lend you to over estimating your skill based on the color belt or title you possess. My own disclaimer is that I am not trying to make a living teaching or promoting people so I can afford to have strict standards. Presas' training beginning with his family art onward.  It has over 200 pages and over 1,100 photos for full illustration.  Below are a couple of early reviews of this book. "Sorry for the delay. I was working on the Abaniko project and then had to find time to read this killer book! Prof Dan did a great job.. The book is as usual awesomely done. I love the excerpts from others quotes from interviews. The background of Professor Presas comes to life, the background of Modern Arnis comes forward.. And as usual, Dan has a great way of showing comparisons and ways to do things and where he's figured out a concept. Prof Presas' technique to illustrate the concept is shown and then the concept behind it. Dan then proceeds to show how impact compares to cutting edge.. Here's another worthwhile addition to your library.  Dan's books are a fine tribute to honor the art that Prof Presas invented-founded.  They show the loyalty and concern Dan has for the art, toward preserving the art and understanding the art so that others can learn it." CONGRATS my friend.. be safe Bram Frank CSSD/SC "I have known Professor Anderson for almost 4 years now and have been training with him off and on for the same amount of time. From day one, his insight into the art of Modern Arnis has always impressed me; it's almost like being around Professor Presas himself. I had the pleasure of helping him with his first couple books on the subject and was excited when I received a copy of his new one in the mail the other day. What can I say… WOW!!! The first four books Dan has produced have been top notch and get better by the volume. The Art Within Your Art continues this flow and is by far the best of the bunch. Even though Anderson calls this The Book of Basics, the way the information is presented though words and images makes me feel like I'm reading a book for grandmasters. There are so many cool things about this book I would love to share, but I will only share one; you will have to buy the book to get the others. One of the things that make this book special is Appendix B. Professor Anderson has included a copy of 15 pages from his own handwritten notes taken when he was training with Professor Presas. You will not find that in any other martial arts book. I suggest adding this book to your library, no matter what level of training you are at. There is something for everyone. I am actually a bit upset at how things go in spelling our words. But I will try to find out who that person is. But take note, most of the people who posted called it Philippino Martial Arts.
