It was nothing less than outstanding. Guro Roger gave 200%. He was a great presenter, humoruos, and moved about with everyone. His best line all day was to keep an open-mind. There was a point in the seminar where he demonstrated quite a bit. In fact he moved abit with Guro John Jacobo and it was very interesting for this newcomer to observe. I thought there may be too much of a pause in the tempo. On second thought, this 48 yr. old body was grateful for the break and putting to use the mental part of this art. Great seminar, great people and fellow FMA's. Bakbakan is a first class outfit and I'm glad I learned about this event from this list. On a second matter. Does anyone have that recipe for JAO (please excuse my spelling if incorrect)? The ointment or whatever it is to put on bruises. I too have had some wrist pain this week. More overexertion than anything else. Did take a few shots during the sparring at the seminar and had my class next morning. I would appreciate getting that recipe again. Thanks, Jim Kinney NJ --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2005 14:32:34 -0500 From: "schwarz571@frontiernet.net" To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] re: fma instructors in the st louis, mo area Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net good day, yes, there are a few of us in the imediate st louis, mo. area. all of us are qualified instructors in a variety of systems. myself, i teach serrada escrima, of the Cabales Serrada Escrima system. there are a couple of my fellow instructors at various other locations in the st louis area. the fellow instructors which come to mind imediately are...errol weber, i believe he can be contacted thru "apex martial arts", of valley park, mo. the second instructor i have in mind is tom howanic, if i'm not mistaken, i believe he teaches in collinsville, il. though i'm not certain of the location of his school. additional fma styles may be available as well with these gentlemen. we 3 share a common bond in Cabales Serrada Escrima. i myself am near the alton, il. area, just a bit north of st louis, mo. however, i teach in belleville, il. as well. just a short distance east of st louis, mo. i can be reached at 217-851-9327, or visit me at http://defensivecombat.tripod.com i hope this helps. respects, guro mike --__--__-- Message: 5 From: GatPuno@aol.com Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2005 15:04:16 EST To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Garimot Arnis in St, Louis, MO Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Kapatid Jay de Leon, Please him contact my Representive in St Louis.
