Garimot System Training Philippine Trip and Tournament 2005 (GatPuno@aol.com) --__--__-- Message: 1 Date: Tue, 08 Mar 2005 19:25:21 -0500 From: NeercsEmantwelve@aol.com To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: Re: [Eskrima] WOOF WOOF WOOF Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net the editorial for that blackbelt was very cool. it mentioned chuck liddel and guro marc as 2 guys who ARE fighters but have not discarded their ''traditional'' training. in many interviews chuck liddell has remarked about how his training in hawaiian kempo paved the way for his kickboxing and now mma career. he even has that tatoo of kempo on one of his shoulders. as for guro marc he always gives credit for his ''traditional'' FMA training giving him the tools and knowledge he has today. guro marc never discarded his ''dead pattern'' training as useless and used it as his sort of gateway to developing many tools you'd need to use for your FMA skills(empty hand or with weapon) in the street, at the gathering, and even in the cage. his open mindedness has allowed him to develop fighting skills using silat, krabi krabong, bjj, wrestling, muay thai, and whatever elese to to help him use his FMA , AND he's used his FMA to open the door for all the other arts he's practiced/practicing. if one ever gets the chance to train with guro marc you may come to realize how your training hubud, training the footwork on male &female triangles, doing heaven six, etc(all these beginning skills for most FMA), CAN enable to use you skills in friendly sparring, at a gathering, and on the street. When: July 16 to 26, 2005 Where: Paete, Laguna, Philippines. Cost:??? e-mail me at gatpuno@aol.com We are hosting the Paete Arnis Tournament and we inviting everyone interested to join us in our annual Traditional Un-padded Stickfighting Competition. Open to all style. Tournament is start at 1 pm on July 25th at the town Plaza, next to the Police Dept. We are also inviting other Master and Grandmasters of other style, who's willing to share their knowledge to my student and other practitioner that will participate in this 10 daysTraining Trips. If you are interested to participate in training, in the Tournament, or even want to be just spectator, please feel free to e-mail me and I will forward you the complete info. I will be there for three weeks. So if you cant make it for the Tournament, we still can arrange something over the period of 3 weeks to meet and know each other. Let me know. So far 13 of my student are getting ready for this trip. During this 10 days you will see two Tournament of Arnis in Laguna, one is in the town of Magdalena, on the 19 of July and the 25 in Paete, Laguna both Tournament is U-padded, rules varries of the town. Hope to see new faces this time. It might have a chance also to see me on the actual matches, I am hoping those practitioner that said they cant beat me wont turn back on me when I got there.
