I'm not sure if someone taught her the fighting scenes using retractable weapon but I'm certainly sure that was FMA. Although I don't have a link to the story but she was interviewed during the promotion of the movie when I was watching E! with my wife. I hope this helps. I am under Grand Master Arthur Gonzalez. Decuerdas Eskrima is a close quarter system using stick, knife, empty hands, etc. We teach getting in close using elbows, knees, locking and quick takedowns. Also in my curriculum I teach Serrada 1-12 (lock and block, sparring) and the Giron method of Largo Mano. Let me know if you are interested. And suffering through Antonio banderes is worth the fight scene if you cannot find a clip on the net. That was one of the worst movies of all time, with fight scenes that were on a par for realism with the Charlies Angels movies. If you want to watch a good movie (fair plot, good fight and action scenes) that showcases women, check out So Close, directed by Cory Yuen. I apologize for getting off of the FMA topic here. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Clint Cayson" To: Sent: Friday, March 11, 2005 6:13 AM Subject: [Eskrima] Lucy Liu on FMA > If you guys saw the movie "Ecks and Sever" with Antonio Banderas they > were thinking of a sequel of that movie. How would you use one opponents body to absorb blows, kicks from multiple atackers while on the ground. I could see where this might be feasable if all of the standing attackers were in basically the same spot or even on the same side, but I don't see this as being, even remotely possible, faced with the standing attackers being placed around the pair on the floor. Please point us in the direction of websites, videos any other type of link. If these guys are teaching this as a system I for one would like more info.
