Yes, I am very excited about this event as it is the first time that one of the most senior students of Tatang will teach in the UK. I fully agree that Master Rey has a wealth of knowledge, as well as being a very humble master of FMA. That is a great interview that you conducted David, and I recommend it to anyone interested in FMA. The Bakbakan Kali seminar will include, sinawali, solo baston, tulisan knife, and hagibis empty hand techniques. Anyone interested in this UK First event can contact me via email on: peter@romo-ilustrisimo.co.uk. Thanks for your support David. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Greetings to All, I'm looking for an FMA instructor on the east coast. Specifically, the Boston area. I'm not too particular as far as style or system, just a good teacher. Does anyone know of any Sayoc instructors/teachers within the Boston area by chance? Any and all comments are welcome Walter __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! People just take video games too seriously. I'm sure video game makers are laughing at these news. I play video games sometimes with my son - and that's it, if I loose to a video game, I can just try and reset the whole thing again. Thanks for the info, Mr. R Terry. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net For Boston, I would check out Wes Tasker. He's one of Tuhon Bill McGrath's advanced students. I believe he teaches on Sundays in the North area of Boston. He does silat as well. It's a really good training group. His contact info is on the Pekiti Tirsia International website. It's been a while, but I believe there was a a group that practice in Rhode Island but may have a training night in Massachusetts. I don't know him personally, but Tim Waid vouches for him. There's a fellow named Jack on this digest who can give you more info if/when he sees this. For Sayoc, I would contact Steve Lefebvre via the Sayoc.com site. He hosts seminars inNew Hampshire and may have training groups in Massachusetts. Andy -- Walter Vorhauer wrote: Greetings to All, I'm looking for an FMA instructor on the east coast. Master REy provides many interesting and thought provoking comments.....I basically just left the tape recorder run and left it in his his hands (only joking)!Keep an eye out Peter because therte are interviews with Master Christopher ''Topher" Ricketts (Chief Instructor of Bakbakan International and one of the senior students of GM Antonio 'tatang' Ilustrisimo....My treacher Guro Roland Dantes introduced me to him in 1998 and last year I became his student in Kali Ilustrisimo. The whole time myself and my girlfriend were in the Philippines, he graciously and openly shared his extensive knowledge with us. A true master and one who certainly walks the walk), PG Yuli Romo (another of the senior students of GM Ilustrisimo and a remarkable master in his own right), PG Bert Labaniego (senior master of Lightning Scientific Arnis) and some others. Master Rey certainly will impress those who attend the seminar. As you would expect from a skilled practitioner such as he is, his skills are highly developed and he is well versed in all aspects of the art. What also stands out is his method of instruction which I found to be excellent. As is sometimes the case, there are fighters and teachers. Unfortunately often they fallin to either camp. With Master Rey, he is one who definitely possesses the true skills which the warrior arts of the Philippines are renowned for and he passes on his knowledge clearly and concisely. One of our guys here who oinly recently started training is heading to the UK in June. I will have him contact you since I am sure he would like to attend.
