PAL isn't even viewable by most people on this side of the pond. A PAL DVD will, of course, play full colour. If nothing else, the human body and mind are adaptable. Once it becomes a familiar environment, most people learn to function in such a state. Admittedly, some are better than others, but just about everyone improves with exposure to stress. If you've been in a number of car wrecks or fistfights, you know what I mean. In my experience, most animal fights are not about technique or tactics. They're about will and personality. Very few animals fight to the death over something like pack dominance. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net There's a difference between "region" and "format" (PAL, NTSC). A TV from England won't work over here because the vertical resolution of the TV signal is different. The US and Japan use NTSC, most of Europe uses PAL, and the French use SECAM because... well, because they're French, I guess. Anyway, the DVD is going to be NTSC, almost guaranteed. A good discussion is here: http://www.dvdcity.com/codefree/codefree-ntsc-info.html Woody On 4/20/05, Clint Cayson wrote: > My wife's cousins are from Switzerland and their son brought in some > DVDs with them to enjoy the travel and it worked on our DVD Player. I am not sure how useful this will be to Norteamericanos but FWIW there is a shop in Vancouver, BC which sells dual (PAL and NTSC) DVD players. I bought one and am very happy with it as it allows me to watch movies from the old country which do not have much of a chance to reach the stores here. The cool thing is that apparently all the new DVDs produced in the Czech Republic now automatically have English sub-titles so my wife can watch as well and I do not go crazy translating. I have yet to see a MA DVD originating in Europe, though. But that just may be a distribution issue. Michael Koblic, Campbell River, B.
