What it was, etc. If I'm right it has to do with Dizon. Hope somebody has this story. Or different variations of that story. :-) Greetings from germany. Oh well, the print out from the VHS tape must have been a typo. I've seen books before in Philippines (National Bookstore) and it looked interesting but never had the chance to read or buy one. Anyway, thanks for pointing me out and I appreciate the gesture. The movie was based on the Destroyer series of books. Awesome books. They're like cotton candy - not a lot of nutritionaly value but they taste good and go fast. Ironically, the martial arts in them is sometimes actually based on real martial arts but then it's exaggerated to the point of humorous fiction. The website you linked to looks to me like the bio of a fictional character used in a role playing game. Run a search for "sinanju" though and you'll come up with a lot of links to things related to the series of books and the movie: "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins" Mike --__--__-- Message: 4 From: Ray Subject: Re: [Eskrima] Dequerdas Tunnel To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net (Eskrima) Date: Mon, 25 Apr 2005 08:10:52 -0700 (PDT) Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net > I'm searching for the story of the Dequerdas tunnel. > What it was, etc. If I'm right it has to do with > Dizon. One can assume that it is myth and like most mythical stories, a great legend that grows with each telling. It pretty much goes that to prove himself an Eskrimador was to pass through the Dequerdas tunnel unharmed. It was totally dark inside and filled with traps, e.g. trip wires affixed to crossbows, falling timbers, poison arrows and lances, etc. It also contained poison snakes, spiders and other bad stuff... generally things that would kill your average super hero, but not a super-super hero like Dizon. :) All you could use to survive the traps and pitfalls within the tunnel was your skill in Eskrima. I am looking for arts that focus on the knife or some type of fma grappling. If not maybe a balintawak group. I will be in cebu city for about 2 weeks and would like to limit my training in that area. Thank you for your assistance. And the new service is not up yet (no ETA). And all data will be saved (no worries). Please be assured that I consider this data to be of very high value and will make every effort to return the service to the FMA community ASAP. If anyone has any other questions, please let me know. P.S. We currently have 1411 instructors listing (probably about 3% duplications), 408 organizations and nearly 1800 terms in the Glossary. We receive 1 to 4 updates or additions per day.
