Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Ray, Did you say strutting around? ha ha Listen, maybe I shouldn't laugh but I would love to see this. Where can I get my hands on some video? You see, I studied Silat for a long time. I would be interested to see it for sure. Anymore, I find that I have to laugh at some of the stuff that goes on out there to keep from crying. Martial arts has gotten such a black eye from some of the commercial ventures that people have tried. My reasons to study the arts have been selfish I will admit. I wanted to improve myself and through the arts I have succeded. The arts strengthen you inside and out. To me they are almost holy. I guess that is why I always trained so hard and took it all so seriously. Laughing is the only way I can keep from cringing sometimes when I see stuff that is going on. Hope you have a great day. I am going camping with the family. To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Aw come on, guys. If you have been to tournaments, I am sure you have seen posturing, trash-talking, stare-downs, psyching, celebratory rituals, and all sorts of things, not to mention the downright nasty stuff. But I must admit now I am curious as to what Ray construes as strutting. You learn something new everyday, right? In this case, a chicken strut. aka a chicken walk. Circle each other in the chicken walk. Stopping every so often to assume a silat posture, then clash in a very typical point tournament fashion. Disengage, chicken walk, strike a pose, clash, score a point, etc etc. > You learn something new everyday, right? Hopefully.
