Rodriguez San.Star Bacolod San Carlos chapter martial artists captured five trophies, one silver and one bronze medals to end as overall champion in the 2nd Tapondo Regional Invitational Competition held last May 8. The event was held at Gaisano City Mall and hosted by the organization's Bacolod City chapter under Roy Flores Senior Sensei. The San Carlos team was under the tutelage of Danny Lopez Sensei. Ending second overall were the Bacolod City team who copped three trophies, four silver and four bronze medals while the Toboso chapter of Basilio de la Torre Sensei ended with two trophies and one bronze medals to place third. Other winners in the event were the Calatrava chapter of Danny Lopez Sensei who garnered one trophy, three silver and three bronze medals; Sagay City chapter under Frederick Flores Sensei had one trophy, two silver and one bronze medals; Iloilo chapter of Senior Police Officer 4 Roberto Celiz won a trophy. Winners Champions in the kid's category, 7-12 years old division, are Slade Cabiles, long thrust; Noli Dearca, somersault; Niko Mahinay, multiple attacker; and Jessa Joy Sario, multiple attackers. Adult - Joemar Gella, high thrust; Julius de la Victoria, somersault; Louvelle Thess Sorolla, multiple attacker; Daniel Dumdu, kicking defense, yellow belt division; Johnny Cañedo, knife thrust defense, blue belt division; Allan mario Facturan, stick defense, brown belt division; Danny Jo, kata, high thrust and multiple attackers, black belt division. The Bacolod team captured the dramatize group category.
