Danny runs the Berryville Martial Arts Center. It is actually in Arkansas. But Danny knows all the other FMA guys in the area. And if there was a good instructor in your friend's area he would know who it is. Danny is one of Guro Inosanto's students. He is amazing. And I went with him to a big seminar in the Springfield MO area. And he knew everyone there. So check with him. You will find him very helpful for he is a terrific human being. That this was not acknowledged was an inadvertent oversight, I am sure. When Bobby Tabimina's interview was conducted in Manila, Bobby was holding a binder that contained print-outs of the web site articles and photos as well as some of his other notes on his Balintawak curriculum. Since Bobby neither had extra printed copies of the articles nor digital files available to give to Rey Galang and Topher Ricketts for the book, it was discussed whether articles should just be simply extracted from the Tabimina web site ensuring that no "surprises" or questionable statements would come out when the book was published as the material would already be what was in existence, authored by the Tabimina faction of Balintawak. Outside of minor editing changes and rearrangements of the web site articles on the Tabimina web site, it was agreed that this would be the best way to make sure that no "erroneous" or misleading reporting be done in as far as Tabimina's section within the Balintawak chapter. Rey Galang was simply trying to provide the most accurate information regarding Tabimina's biography and Balintawak history. All the parties agreed that this was the best and "safest" method considering no written articles nor digital files were available at that time to be handed over. Since the section was already for and about Bobby Tabimina, there was no longer any need for further acknowledgement. There is not a single sentence in the Tabimina article nor in the entire Balintawak chapter that gives undue credit to Rey Galang. The entire book is simply a "collection" of in-depth biographies, exclusive personal insights and detailed combative applications. When Bobby Tabimina received his copy of the WAP book (sent by courier service by Rey Galang) from Topher Ricketts at Monsour del Rosario's OTTC gym in Makati, he expressed his happiness and admiration of the final product and declared proudly, "It's about time!". He and his group also inquired on procedures for ordering extra copies. All the Balintawak masters presented in the book received their copies and gratefully acknowledged the dedication and major effort that went into the making of the book as well as, in their own words, the book's excellent presentation. The entire book, though limited to only six of the major systems, was simply focused on and devoted to the promotion and preservation of the Warrior Arts of the Philippines. The book was produced and completed due to the fraternal bonds that developed or existed between the masters of the different systems. Let's not discredit the effort and cooperation that went into making this milestone in FMA history. Hope to have clarified. Yours in the Arts, John G. As I said, the oversight was most likely inadvertent, and I do recognize the difficulty of citing all sources. My posting was a knee-jerk reaction of pride, for I was flattered that it was considered worthy of inclusion. I assure you it was not to cast an aspersion on Mr. Galang, but foolishly to gain some recognition for myself. In any case, I humbly apologize for the inappropriateness of the post. I forget often how hard it is to read intentions behind this poor medium called writing. For the record, I would like to say that I sincerely believe Mr. Galang deserves all of the praise his book is now getting. The years of effort Mr. Galang put into the book, and the fact that it is not even just about KI or Bakbakan speak highly of his selfless dedication to the FMAs.
