We don't have a FMA school in Nashville, the one that taught Doce Pares switched to karate and doesn't hold FMA classes anymore. I and a kungfu buddy of mine have started a training group in Percy Warner Park in Nashville, and any people who do FMA and want to train with me are welcome to come and play. We are doing it "No money, no egos, no drama!". I will be more than happy to play as hard or light as anyone might want. I encourage anyone who knows someone in the area to drop them a line and tell them about the weekly meets. FMA are far too good to be relegated to everybody's solo practice!!! cheers, Brian www.nashvillebagua.org --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Lance and Jocylin Cross" To: Date: Wed, 13 Jul 2005 13:32:49 -0400 Subject: [Eskrima] First Aid Resource Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hi, Is there a seperate discipline about the emergency treatment of blade wounds and impact injuries? I believe part of self defense or personal safety training is to survive long enough for an ambulance team to arrive. If its not you your saving, it is someone you care about. First Aid is offered locally, but I wondered if there was training available that specialized in healing (or first aid) to blade and impact wounds that covered more than first aid. But Dave do not go down to his level as this will be damaging also to yourself and your profile as a highly regarded martial artist and writer!!!! There as other ways of doing and handling it Dave. Bear in mind Peter is not normal and has an abnormal mind. He has mental problems. I am citing this as a reference to the problem we have with Peter. So remain calm and I would like you to write to the Eskrima Digest and inform them that Peter has been banned for a long time from the class upon request from the other students. And with regards to the computer thing you offered to pay him for his services and he turned it down. Mention also that you did not charge him for he class sessions for more than 2 years to make it even. You do not owe him anything. You have asked the other students to give him a chance several times so that he can get back to training, but he never changed his attitude. You could do nothing as all the members of the class unanimously voted him out!!!!! Peter Gow has only trained a handful of group lessons under my instruction and 2 seminars. He has onlt trained in the fundamentals. >From this moment I fully endorse Peter Gow's complete expulsion from our group. He is not welcome to any training sessions and is in no way associated with us, "Arnis Philippines" and the I"International Arnis Federation". So Dave, I would like you to outline and explain the complete situation and handle it through the FMA forum. Love and God Bless Guro. P.S. I HAVE SENT HIM A MESSAGE ALREADY AND TOLD HIM HOW UPSET I AM AND ADDED THAT IT ALSO PLACES A SMEAR ON MY FMA REPUTATION. > --------------------------------- Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Wed, 13 Jul 2005 11:42:05 -0700 (PDT) From: jay de leon Subject: Re: [Eskrima] working out in Middle TN To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hi. This will provide the needed training and education on wound care and management. As for treatment this should be left up to trained medical profesionals. Basic emergency management of such injuries is based off the golden hour and getting the person to a Trauma Center or ER well with in that time. Unfortunately, there are very few competent hilot masters in existence outside the Philippines. The only ones I know personally are my instructor Master Godofredo Fajardo who is currently in Saudia Arabia and Gat Puno Abon Baet, who is an ED list member but might be out of town. In fact, one of my projects is to promote hilot, including learning the art in the Philippines. Of course, you may contact my good friend Gat Puno Abon directly at garimot.com .
