If this is so, be careful. Going down the wrong path fast just gets you to the wrong destination faster. Without a competent Instructor by your side in an ongoing celebration of give and take one can easily lose their way even with the best of intentions. And if you are practicing the moves incorrectly over and over you may just get good at doing them wrong. Sincerely though, good luck with your training in the FMA. It is inspiring to see the passion is so deep in you to go to such measures to train. Also, apologies if you or someone else that will be leading these sessions is adept at the FMA's. If this is the case, my words have no meaning here (please disregard). Steve Klement" Mr. Klement, Thank you for your concern. I have a few years in FMA, two of them with formal training 2-4 times per week. I like to think I burned in the angles decently in that period of time. I wouldn't classify myself as an "adept" with so many senior people here on the Digest, though I'm quite the authority on FMA amongst my kungfu friends (oh the irony of that!!). I've done my cuts, and taken some welts. If someone wants to learn something besides what I have in my toolbox I will not hesitate to point them to the more senior figures in the state such as you or Mr. McCleary, depending on their needs. The senior people in TN are some of the best in the world.. and I have vicarious pride in their skill... but they are not here. And here is where the need for buckets of sweat, good solid angles, and welts and bruises is. Again.. I'm not saying I'm fit to teach.. but I'm fit to practice, and if others want to train.. then they are most welcome to share in my continuing process of discovery and growth.
