Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Geo The Bear: My name is Bill; I just use my sister's Email address. As for the pipes, I got them from Home Depot. They are cut to 28 inches and are threaded and capped. They are the black plumbing pipe. I have two sets. One in 3/4 inch diameter, the other in 1 and 1/4 inches. Home Depot will cut and thread them for you. The caps are important because you can fill them with sand for more weight. Like you, I no longer spend time with the weights in the gym. I have a daily exercise routeen consisting of Hindu pushups and squats, pushups, sit ups, and back bridges along with a few others I found in Matt Furry's book. After the basics I do my kali workout. Once a week I work with the pipes. I start with the biggest pipe and do 10 power strokes with each arm.[Horizontal forehand and backhand right then left, diagonal down, uppercuts, redondos, punos.] Then I repeat the process with the 3/4" ,but add a few reps. Then again with 1 and 1/4" buy 40" rattan and again with 1 and 1/4" by 28" rattan and finally with my sticks I fight with. Each stick change I add a few reps. Its like doing burnouts with weights. Good luck: Bill. --__--__-- Message: 2 Date: Sun, 7 Aug 2005 12:53:55 -0600 From: Gordon Walker To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] EQUIPMENT REFERRAL Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hi, Im thinking of purchasing equipment from Sinawali Trade. Does anybody have experience with them? Also, any ideas on North American suppliers of sparring equipment would be much appreciated. Please pm me with the details if you prefer.
