The report I had read was that that student had trained for a year or more and that he was a polite and dedicated student to the art. And that to me proves there really is no way to know. And that enforces to me the need to CYA one's teaching curriculum. No one has any way of knowing completely how someone will act or react to a situation. Or if they have covert plans such as the hijackers. Imagine how the flying instructors that taught them to fly must feel. The most evil part of terrorists is their ability to blend. But gentlemen - man as the living creature used weaponary a long time! And from my job as a cop I can tell you, that it is not necesarry to teach someone knifetechniques in order to lead him to kill someother person with a knife! Of course he gets more efficient, but with a houseknife anybody can kill. Bad thinking people are everywhere - so why are you all so astonished that they are in our martial arts schools? Maybe the nice pupils of ours only need a drink to much in combination with a real bad day - to get onto a Rambo Mission? my 2 cents malle ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken Borowiec" To: Sent: Wednesday, October 19, 2005 2:55 PM Subject: RE: [Eskrima] Re: Secret techniques > "i know the flying instructor who had one of those hijackers in his > class and > he still doesn't sleep very well. What happens when that driver u turns in front of motorcyclist or kills a pedestrian while under the influence? I guess these are questions you have to ask yourself. While i care and wish to behave in a manner that i would like myself to be treated, i cannot be everyones keeper. They have their responsibility and at some point there needs to be a cut off point On 10/19/05, Ken Borowiec wrote: > > ..... And that to me proves there really is no way to know. The only kuomintang that I'm aware of is a Chinese political body, "the" Kuomintang . . . The Kuomintang (KMT) or Nationalist Party of China is a conservative political party currently active in the Republic of China (ROC) on Taiwan. Together with the People First Party, it forms what is known as the pan-blue coalition, which leans towards Chinese reunification whereas the pan-green coalition leans towards Taiwan independence. Organized shortly after the Xinhai Revolution, which overthrew the Qing Dynasty in China, the KMT fought the Beiyang warlords and the Communist Party of China for control of the country before its retreat to Taiwan in 1949. There, it controlled the government until 2000. Thus the ROC was once referred to synonymously with the KMT and known simply as "Nationalist China" after its ruling party. I think they played Sunami as the opening segment to a Wesley Snipes / Sean Connery flick. __________________________________________________________________ Look What The New Netscape.com Can Do! In general the dances may involve wooing a girl, but fighting over one is not commonly depicted in traditional folk dance. That's not to say that one doesn't exist, but it's definitely not commonly known. Kulintang is definitely what you are talking about. There are a lot of resources for that online. Try abs-cbn.com. Kuomintang is the Republican government of China that was driven out by the People's Republic to Taiwan. It has no relationship to the Philippines. Myself, I like flamenco and traditional arabic drumming for my class, even Banghra. Kulintang is nice too, but I like a faster rythm. How many times have you watched the news and the neighbor of a murderer says "but he was such a nice guy"? Anyone can crack under pressure, either real or imagined. For that matter, I've met plenty of "instructors" that have issues and the occasional screw loose. Lots of little guys with big things to prove. I hate to say it, but it comes with the martial arts territory. -Steve Kohn iPat wrote: i know the flying instructor who had one of those hijackers in his class and he still doesn't sleep very well.
