As no two situations are ever likely to be exactly alike there's obviously no exact answer to your question Pat. It might also come down to the intended 'victim' having to make a choice, in the same way that a woman somewhere in the world is having to make that very same choice right now, as you read this reply to your post. Everything has a price, and whereas some might be willing to barter, or pay that price, others may not. In my own case, I would hope to be able to use distraction, speed, surprise and a good deal of aggression, in order to get away as safely as possible. My emphasis would be on 'Damage Limitation', from my own point of view, and 'Damage Maximisation' as far as my assailant was concerned. How would I do it? Would I kick, would I grapple, would I shout and scream blue murder from the bottom of my lungs, would I punch, claw, spit and more? Hell yes! In case you haven't, this is what he wrote: "This book is without doubt the worst start a beginner can make in the study of swordsmanship. Full of shoddy historical research (if any), mistaken premises, and utterly incorrect technique, the only value this book has is for instructors, that they may be aware of the potential misapprehensions a beginner may bring to their first class. Mr. Clement's enthusiasm is beyond doubt, but regrettably, that is no substitute for correct practice." There are vlaues that each one of us can only measure ourselves, related to our experiences. It might also come down to the intended 'victim' having to make a choice, in > the same way that a woman somewhere in the world is having to make that > very > same choice right now, as you read this reply to your post. or a man. Apparently a regular unreported event Everything has a price, and whereas some might be willing to barter, or > pay............How would I do it? A recent discussion on grappling against the knife becomes more realistic i think now. -- Pat www.amag.org.uk --__--__-- Message: 6 Date: Wed, 21 Dec 2005 14:59:38 +0000 From: tenrec To: eskrima digest Subject: [Eskrima] for speedy recovery and on rattan stick sources Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Natahey! I have been able to make it to Detroit only a handful of times to train with him (hence my self title of "the baby of balintawak") but each time what impresses me more than his skill is his warmth.  I feel fortunate to have met him let alone become his student. So, Manong Ted, Godspeed to a full recovery. With love and respect, Your student, your friend, Dan Anderson --__--__-- Message: 9 From: "amrinder singh" To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Date: Wed, 21 Dec 2005 11:20:47 -0500 Subject: [Eskrima] Kamagong sticks Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hello everyone needed some advice thought i would turn to you.
