Yet it is quite logical to display it in it's martial mode as the school represents the fighting arts used in those warrying times and may aptly term it as a war flag as what Mark J. stated in his email. Honestly there must be some proper rule FMA organizations must adhere to..or maybe there is already and it's just I didn't hear about it...Maraming salamat sa iyo kapatid. Just wanted to say Buz's concerns about that safety of this knife's sheath design are not theoretical. I personally know someone who went to the emergency room with DEEP cuts across multiple fingers caused by drawing the blade in just the manner described. Caveat emptor. This is really new to me: "(2) The flag should never be displayed horizontally except in flagpoles or hung fastened by its fly. The fly portion should always be free to move ". Yes, most flag I've seen displayed inside Dojo's are placed horizontally. Not to mind but from now on I'll pay notice to this practice. The info you put out are a must know for all specially to those who in some maner of allegiance display the country's flag of their martial art system/s. My appreciation and salamat !! Jorge V. (http://www.gironarnisescrima.com/INTL%20Products%20Page.htm) Could anyone post a review of the tapes? (Is it just basic stuff or more advanced? Is it worth the money?) Thanks a lot. --__--__-- Message: 7 Date: Thu, 9 Feb 2006 16:47:42 -0800 (PST) From: ken spartan To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Proper Display of the Philippine Flag Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net hello alex: that's one truly enlightening comment..now all one has to do is to stick to the rules.. dont wan't to sound sound too overly patriotic, i think it's just proper to pay the right respects a country where the martial art originated, and in effect---the virtue that will lead us to get to know the martial art better and its useful benefits will be its own reward.
