Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net I don't know why but Ray's posts often give me a feeling of deja vu. I have been to the exact place described in the news item below about 17-18 years ago... BTW, I used to know a Filipino-American family whose last name is also "Terry". I think their grandfather was an American soldier who settled in the Philippines. Some of the family members also live in the Tondo area. You might have distant relatives in the Philippines Ray. > > > -- __--__-- > > Message: 3 > Date: Tue, 4 Apr 2006 16:20:49 -0700 > From: "Ray Terry" > To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net > Subject: [Eskrima] the barangay tanods fought back with their night sticks > and > arnis > Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net > > Two tanods hurt in attack by drunks > The Manila Bulletin Online > > Two barangay tanods were wounded when a group of drunken residents > stormed a barangay hall in Tondo, Manila after midnight yesterday due > to an old grudge. > > Police arrested one of the attackers, Wilfredo Indimije, 22, a pedicab > driver, after the 12:30 a.m. attack at the barangay hall of Barangay > 44 at the corner of Mabuhay and Moriones Streets. --__--__-- Message: 2 Date: Fri, 7 Apr 2006 07:15:22 -0700 From: "Czar Peralta" To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Re: Fitness class influenced by ancient art of stickfighting Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net looks very unconventional but when tae bo became popular, there was an increase in our muay thai/ kickboxing class enrollment. There are still a lot of folks that don't even know that Filipino Martial Arts even exists; even some filipinos. Presenting the art through nontraditional methods may spark interest into training the traditional way. On 4/6/06, ed garcia wrote: > Uh-oh. Looking at the pics makes me sick.
