To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hi Ruel, It was indeed televised but not at 8PM. I was in Iloilo City during that time. It was around 11PM in my watch when it was aired. The wushu guys are good. They're from Baguio and many of the best wushu sanshou artists in the country comes from that place. Besides, they are well supported by Master Tsing Tung Tsai (spelling?). The fights were short and many of them were ended by strikes. The commentation, however, leaves a lot to be hoped for in terms of educating the public of various arts. I believe it was just an elimination tournament. The championship tournament is still upcoming. JAMES SY Ruel Apostol wrote: Somebody posted that fearless would be televised tonight over at RPN9 at 8pm. Wala eh. The Balisong is also quite popular in Iloilo and is in fact locally called as the "Batangueno". The Batangas-made ones are normally discreetly available from the street vendors outside the Iloilo Public Market. Haggling for them is itself an adventure because the initial quoted price would normally be the then astronomical sum of about P80 (about $10 at that period's exchange rate). Eventually, you could take them home for only about P20 (about $2.50). > > -- __--__-- > > Message: 3 > Date: Wed, 19 Apr 2006 09:53:15 -0700 (PDT) > From: jay de leon > Subject: Re: [Eskrima] Re: Machetes, Bolos, > To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net > Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net > > Master Jorge: > > Excellent post as usual.
